I watch your build videos. I'm convinced your attention to details, your craftsmanship and your priority towards safety makes you a premier builder. One item that many get "wrong" is the exhaust note. Often too loud, too obnoxious, too raw for my taste that has been nurtured from decades of building American V8 street rods. When you get the sound right, it pulls it all together. It has to be right.... or it's wrong. Milo, I can only suggest you "start 'em up" when you video them. I gotta here what you built.

I also am very concerned about volume and tone of the exhaust on all my vehicles. The Manx, the Harley Dyna and my 454 GMC truck. I have always wanted a deep sound and quite enough not to offend. Recorded exhaust noise on a video is not an accurate representation.

John No, The cost of an old Manx plus parts, paint and upgrades will cost close to 20k. That's doing the labor yourself. I know from this from restoring 5 of them now. All old Manx's/Beetles are worn out and improperly maintained. Sure, you can probably buy one for 6K, but, it will need everything and it will constantly break down. Remember, you are dealing with a 45-50 year old chassis and running gear.
