I am currently a resident of Mexico, and have no intention to go back to Europe. Germany is getting worse by the day, and England as well. Everything is very expensive, and there are hardly any jobs. So it's still better in Mexico.

Hola Larissa, Mexi-Canadian here. First of all, great video! I am a Mexican born and raised from CDMX who made Vancouver his home for about 16 years. During the Plandemic, I decided to move back to CDMX and like you, I don't miss Vancouver a bit! Certainly some parts of the city and its surroundings are gorgeous, but that's about it pretty much! Food I have some of the best in the world here, and cheaper! Fellow mexicans nice people in general. In my case my family is here, and, there are many, many places in Mexico to explore that might resemble Vacounver's weather and mountains, and, most likely cheaper! So, bottom line, I have no plans to return to Raincouver and specially with its higher prices and political turmoil.

I just passed my 20th anniversary of living in Vancouver. I will always love Vancouver but it’s time to leave. I have already secured a place in PV for 1 October… a 2 bed 2 bath 1100 sf condo including the wrap around patio, rooftop pool and gym in bldg, 20-25 min walk to the malecon and it’s the same price as my 1 bed 1 bath 450 sf apartment in Vancouver close to Commercial Drive. I do have to say that PV summers heat and humidity is my main concern, but not only is Canada there to come back and visit, but the summer would also be a great time to take a trip inland and explore other parts of Mexico.

Great video Larisa! I had the pleasure of meeting you and your daughter at the pool before you left! Remember, you had thought i was Russian, haha. Well i can report so far the summer is not so bad in PV NV, the evening night rains cool it off. I agree about the exchange rate, however if you do a CD with an ivestment bank, it can offset the higher cost of living we are now experiencing here now. I shop like at Mexican, at local fruit veggie markets, a local butcher and cook at home 90% of the week. My rent is much cheaper than U S. And it is much safer here. Looking forward to chatting with you when (The now official Snowbird) returns in November...in the meantime enjoy the cold rain in Vancouver as I enjoy the warm rain here😅

Larissa did you know that you don't have to live your life in Puerto Vallarta, there are many other places to live in Mexico that will provide a cooler climate and living expenses are much lower than very expensive Puerto Vallarta. I live in Vancouver Canada and you will soon find out how cold, rainy, overcast and expensive that can be, and consider we get only, maybe two months of extremely hot weather in the summer. So If your leaving Puerto Vallarta because you can't drink the tap water or flush your toilet paper down the drain, that's a poor reason. I see from your video, you might be a high maintenance girl that prefers expensive places to reside, so Vancouver might be the best place for you. Mexico is still cheaper than Canada, to live a stress free organic healthy lifestyle as I do!

You probably know this Larissa, since you’re bright, but there’s a site that allows one to compare the cost of living in cities worldwide - and Vancouver flunks. The comparison between Vancouver (the Canuck one) and Vallarta is striking. It’s about half in Vallarta. I lived in Mazatlan for 17 years and we now snowbird, spending our summers (such as they are) in Calgary and winters in Maz. I got remarried to a lifelong Calgarian (which is why I’ve been snowbirding for six years). I’m working on her to make a year-round move to Maz (with escapes back to here and to the mountain cities in Mexico in the summer. I really appreciate these videos. I think you’ll build your audience, particularly among fence sitters, who have been considering a move from Canada or the U.S. to Mexico. Thanks mucho.

I agree, Vancouverites are cold and not very inclined to help others. But Vancouver also has four times the population of PV. Most large metropolitan cities aren't the friendliest places. I live on Vancouver Island and people are amiable and stop to help. I spent 5 months in PV and have seen a mix of happy and unhappy faces. My experience in Mexico was different, but I wasn't around expats and mostly locals. I have seen many faces that didn't express happiness during my stay in Mexico. It's also important to distinguish between the expats that aren't working and every day is like vacation for them. Of course, they will be happier than someone who's having to attend a daily job.

Generally yes but it’s not that simple anymore. A pair of shoes like Nike are now expensive in Mexico. A small bottle of soy sauce is $10 but housing is more affordable in Mexico. In the end, Mexico is a quickly growing economy and she is correct. Mexico is catching up in costs. The days of easy decisions to move to Mexico are closing. Unless of course you have seven figures in your savings.

@@yyyaaadudemerida2798 I am from Texas and now live in Mexico. My monthly costs are at least $500 USD cheaper in Mexico. My rent in South Texas for a 2 bedroom and 2 bath apartment was $750.00 per month plus about $400.00 per month for groceries. Now my rent for a three bedroom and 2.5 bathroom house in a gated community is about $620.00 per month depending on the exchange rate. Every Mexican that has a US tourist visa and lives within a days drive to the border buys the majority of their clothes and electronics in the US. The key is to leverage the benefits of the US and Mexico. Factor in the soft freedoms and lack of divisiveness, and its an easy decision. People that go to Mexico looking to live a middle class lifestyle on $1,500 USD per month become very disappointed and move back where they spend significantly more per month. That is not logical.

@@stevegunn9971 I live across the border from McAllen. I have yet to see a job ad for a remote digital marketing position that states the position will pay more if work is performed in the office located in Austin. LOL
