These men have some granite Mexican chins. Great fight.
Canelo is the Mexican monster. He doesn’t need to fight guys 10 years older for an impressive win. My hats off to Jaime for never giving up but he faced a waaaay more experienced guy and went to school. It’s not about throwing combinations. Experience, precision, and discipline was key to winning this fight. Canelo had them all. I didn’t realize how big and strong Munguia was until he was in there with Canelo

@joepompa9349 Yes, that one was OK. Canelo has a great chin and has a tough skin and rarely shows damage done to him. Munguia looked better than most expected defensively as well, he avoided a lot of bodyshots
Can you believe munguia is 27. The maturity he showed even after suffering his first knock down. Give him two more years and he will be in his prime and a force if he stays in super middle weight

Are you nuts ? Munguia has terrible defense man, he got a gift decision against Denis Hogan a few years back, he also was very nearly stopped by washed Sergiy Derevyachenko a few fights ago. He'll get pieced up by the other top guys, he's been fighting c level fighters for nearly his entire career.

Golovkin broke everyone but couldn't hurt Canelo. Bivol proved that its impossible to hurt Canelo enough that he's in danger of falling. I like Benavidez, I just can't envision a scenario where he beats Canelo right now.

Canelo ist truly the better boxer. But I don’t think he is playing with him all the time. Maybe a few rounds If he can knock out him and win by KO he would do it in the 6-8 round. I understand why Canelo said he doesn’t like Mexico vs Mexico fights. Canelo is my favorite fighter, but I like Munguia, and it hurt to see this happen to him.

In my opinion he is phasing out of his peak sadly, he used to put away his opponents much more consistently without going full 12 rounds.

And it's why Bivol has been hiding from Artur all these years because pressure fighting is the bane of stick and move.

That uppercut was nasty. Credit to Munguia for getting up and fighting on. Canelo also took it easy on him towards the end of the fight.

Mungia was doing great with that jab and pace in the first 3 rounds, then it all eent downhill. Once Canelo closed the distance and started dictating the pace, it was over. Some rounds were quiet but overall the fight went as expected.
