@@carlosm.3426You speak as if you know all the food in India. What you see in Indian restaurants is North Indian food(stuff like Butter chicken, naan, etc), sometimes West Indian(like Pav bhaji) and a little bit of South(Dosa, Idli, Sambar, etc). Where is Northeast Indian food to be seen outside of India? I am still waiting for people to know our Northeast Indian food.

Mexican food has the salsa on the side so you can add according to your taste, Indian food you get the salsa equivalent mixed in. I love it. I have learned to make lots of their dishes. They're quite simple, mostly, they just require a lot of cabinet space for all kinds of spices.

I’m a Mexican American whose parents lived in Hawaii for several years before I was born. I grew up eating Japanese and Mexican food but I didn’t try Indian food till I was in college and it was like a revelation. There are so many similar flavor profiles between Mexican and Indian food so eating curry for the first time felt like a warm hug from a long lost relative. I make Indian dishes twice a month and would make it weekly if my brother who lives with me liked curry. I’m trying to find a dish he might like besides naan but so far I haven’t been successful but his kids devour Indian food when I make jt. He’s more into East Asian flavors so that’s the kind of food I usually make him but I’m open to any suggestions of what I can make him. I know he doesn’t mind cumin and cilantro but I can’t figure out for the life of me what part of the spice pallet he doesn’t like.🤷‍♀️

This is awesome! I'm Indian and I LOVE Mexican food which is so similar and yet different in many ways. The two just go together. I was lucky to visit Mexico City a couple of years and went absolutely ballistic eating the street food and the high end stuff as well. So much diversity, just like our food. Someday, I hope someone opens up an Indian restaurant that has a little bit of every region in the country on its menu. The food from South, East and Northeastern India is so different from the butter chicken, tikka masalas etc. which are typically from North India. All the same, I'm glad the senoras enjoyed their outing, lovely to see them enjoy, compare and contrast Indian and Mexican food.

I don’t like meat in certain occasions and I’m so glad that certain parts of India have vegetarian meals that taste so good! I love paneer so much 😭- a South American living in California

Indian food offers lots of vegetarian options. I love them for that. Mexican food is also easy for vegetarianism. You can make tacos with beans and cactus, or mushrooms with chilis. Sautéed corn with zucchini and a little cheese and salsa is spectacular.

@@Alice-7777 90 %?? Nope. Not anymore I mean. Many people have started eating meat sadly. You can say it's 60-40 now. 60% veg & 40% non-veg.

@@HM87520 daily meals are still vegetarian for most of the population, meat is cooked or eaten only during occasions or during good appetite.. For a fact most Hindus, Jains don't eat meat not even chicken and those who eat also have 2 types, one who only eats chicken, lamb and fish and one who eats anything..
