Peruvian here, fun facts related to this video. -There’s no Peruvian dish yet found that doesn’t go well with a inca cola. -Here is more common for empanadas to be baked, not fried. And "empanada de lomo" and "empanada de lomo saltado" are two totally different things...in case you ever visit Perú c=. -Aji de gallina is kinda like a pudding, but it isn’t. Its base is bread soaked in chicken broth and milk, it’s very creamy when it’s still warm. its pudding likeness comes to be more noticeable if you let it get too cold. No it doesn’t have mustard: its color comes from aji Amarillo. Some people add a little bit of cumin, but it’s not really necessary. Most times its used to get a more yellowish color in the cream.. No, it doesn’t taste like potatoes. Some people serve the cream over potatoes, so maybe that what happened in the video. Also, the level of spiciness depends on who prepares it. Usually, it's just spicy enough to make your palate feel a tickling. You can ask for more spice. I recommend it. -Never trust a peruvian that serves you papa a la huancaina or chupe in a dessert bowl. Run away if this happens. -Peruvians have a hard time calling ceviche from other countries ceviche...and you will too as soon as you taste Peruvian ceviche. (not a joke, it actually happened.) - Someone take does tallarines to emergency, they'll die of dehydration. (Tallarines verdes usually look very creamy and have a light green color). -Lomo saltado main part is basically sirloin with onions, tomatoes, soy sauce, pisco (green grape aguardiente) and parsley, →stir fryed in a wok← -very important-. It is served with rice and fried potatoes. Yes, it’s a lot of carbs. No, we do not care. -In a hot day chicha morada is almost addictive, because its insanely refreshing. -Alfajor it’s a very hispanic dessert, originaly from Andalucia... most hispanic countries has its own variation and most of them are awesome.

Hi! Great video, I just wanted to point out that Peru's official languages are Spanish, Quechua and Aymara. Quechua and Aymara are actually native to the country and are a couple of the more than 60 native languages in the country ❤ Greetings from Peru 😊

They mentioned that it lack onions, yet onions are one of the basic ingredients for Peruvian ceviche. Also, it looked very dry and even if you are making it in the moment (which is the most common method nowadays), it always have a generous amount of liquid. Not sure if they commented on the level of spiciness. Limo chili is the responsible for flavor and hot level on the ceviche. I imagine that the recipes in the North can't be as accurate as they wish because of the lack of fresh ingredients.
I’m Mexican and I love Peruvian food! So tasty and delicious! My favourites are carapulcra and chupe de camarón also crema de rocoto
I love the mamas and maybe this is really dumb but I wish they were served the food on real plates with real silverware instead of plastic. It doesn't really help the presentation of any of the foods they try when it's in the plastic bowls with the little white forks. It makes everything look lackluster, and might make people less interested in seeking the food out themselves.

CEVICHE ORIGINATED IN PERU 🇵🇪!!! Mentioning it here cause some people are trying to make a debate out of it…. There’s no more debate when UNESCO awarded the Peruvian ceviche… they name it a plate from Peru… and these people are EXPERTS and do thorough research to award these types of awards. It basically takes them many years, even decades to come to these conclusions…. So ceviche is originally from Peru… and all the other countries that have it… just have their adaptations of it… imitations… but that’s it. Case closed.

Oh bless their hearts, but i agree with some of the comments here, I don't reaally feel like that's a nice representation of peruvian food, especially with that aji de gallina! the only one that looked like the real deal to me was the tallarin, it is sad really bc they detected it too, saying it lacks some chile on the dishes that use aji amarillo
Lomo is my fav! It’s better when the ingredients are all mixed together, imo!
Watching this video makes me want to eat some of the foods 🤤. My mom used to order tallarin verdes for me everytime we go to a Peruvian restaurant during my teenage years❤️. Lomo saltado is good too 🔥

only find this channel 2 weeks ago, freaking hilarious. Love All the ladies but Xochitl is the best
I really like these videos, always interested in what they have to say about food from other places! Quick observation: I’ve noticed quite a few mistakes in the english translation (subtitles) in a few of these videos. Sometimes the essence of what they said is lost (which is sad) Hope you can look into it ❤ otherwise… me encantan estos videos, y más cuando estoy comiendo para comer con ellas 😆
Chamu Pico and Chile, Perú 😂 I love them!

Nicaraguan food next. Fritanga (with gallopinto, queso frito, chancho, carne y pollo, ensalada nica, tajadas and cacao to drink), nacatamal con pan, milca soda and a cacao, baho or vigoron (hard to decide on one, love them both), quesillo, enchilada nica, and for dessert a slice of 3 leches cake (originated in Nicaragua; 2 or 3 countries claim the same),, and some bunuelos and a pico (sweet bread). Boom, did the work for you guys lol. I suggest " Sabor Nicaragüense" on Western Ave or LA 27 in that same area, there are about 4 or 5 Nica restaurants in one spot near Pico/Union.
That ceviche is more likely the way Lima eat it they even add kion and instead of culantro, apio. Ceviche from Piura is lemon, onion, limo pepper, culantro, little fish chunks. Sides: sarandaja camote, canchita, choclo, chifles. And all versiones are good. But Piura style for me, is the definite one!.
Do Ecuadorian food next please
