As a Filipino, I just realized how incredibly common here most of these "exotic" fruits are. Mangosteen, Langka (jackfruit), Balimbing (starfruit), and Guyabano (Soursop) are very common. Lychee not that much, but its "cousins" Rambutan and Longan are more popular here (they're one of my favs). Passionfruit never heard of until now, but the biggest surprise for me was that giant CHICO-looking MAMEY 😭 Can somebody tell me if they taste the same because Chicos (Sapodilla) are my fav fruit of all time and realizing that it could possibly have a giant version would make it my life's mission to eat one 😭😭

In Indonesia, Starfruit is Belimbing, similar name haha, also Jackfruit is Nangka here. And you have Rambutan as well. Mamey Sapote, the bigger version of Sawo, and i think it's not ripe at all, yea it's taste & texture if not ripe is just like a wood and it will become soft & sweet with bitter aftertaste.

I think we call soursop “anona” in El Salvador and their pink variety is so sweet when ripe!! You can tell some of the fruits aren’t fully ready to eat lol. The star fruit we call “carambola” and they’re usually sweet and citrusy. I wonder if the mamey is what we call “zapote” but I recall being more creamy and extremely sweet (like a sweet potato, pumpkin but sweeter).
