I think that is is a sensible approach. 😂 I didn’t know that it is common in Jalisco to “ahogar” one’s food and then still eat it with one’s hands. Sometimes human decisions don’t make a lot of sense. 😂

Its a drowned/drenched torta which beside having sauce on the outside you can put sauce on the inside.usually the outside sauce isnt spicy

No te preocupes el sanwich cubano tampoco es de Cuba 😂.Y miami esta lleno de ellos , habeses los exiliados Americanisan la comida ,como el Taco Bell o La pizza Hawaiana que ni es de Italia ni de Hawai 😅 aveces resultan sabrosa y otras una avovinacion ,depende de tan fuerte el estomago que se lo come ,y hay gente que piensa que porque le ponen salsa a todo ya es Mexicano .

I grew up with my mom having Bolio on the side with frijoles and queso fresco and scrambled eggs. It’s cheap food that fills the belly up!

SoCal Mexican American here..moms never made that nor has she ever heard of this..we would get our bolillo from Elizabeth bakery over in South Gate, ca. and dip some frijoles and queso ranchero and that was it. lol anyone else ?

I'm not Mexican but I love the cuisines...the flavors are awesome...when I go to an authentic Mexican restaurant I turn into a whole Mexican and I'm in heaven 😊😊😊

I’m Mexican and that torta(Mexican sandwich) it’s NOT authentic. Try the ones in the small stands from Mexico. Those are real tortas.

Soy de Tijuana y nunca probé algo así a parte de las tortas ahogadas de Guadalajara y de San Juan de los Lagos . Imagino es una receta familiar y no un platillo popular. De igual forma se ve muy rica.

Btw the ham is jamon polaco (polish ham) krakus is the best because it’s polish but if you want a cheaper Mexican brand FUD is good too

These are extremely good but me and my pops used to always butter the bolillo and toast them over the comal con un cafe! Maaaan, so good!

this is what my mom would make us for Lunch in Elementary school, we got a Torta, some Cucumbers with chili, and a side of Platanos with beans and more cheese... and a Jamaica to drink.... my friends would laugh because i did not have a Lunchable but my lunch was amazing!! i still crave those Tortas!

She got a lot of people mad about a sandwich! I’ll just say this. Growing up in Minnesota, there were a LOT of American cuisines that I never saw or heard about. Now I’ve been to 48 states, but there are probably still some American dishes and styles I’ve never tried. Even within regions, every family cooks a little differently. Just because you’ve never seen a dish made in a certain way, doesn’t mean it isn’t authentic!

Best bolio. Toasted bolio, light mayo, fried pinto beans, vinegar dipped jalapeños, queso fresco, 1/4 avacado, 1 piece carne asada. Even with out meat its great but with it its a 10/10 "sandwich".
