I didn't get that far for years. I knew about it and defeated Mewtwo at a friend's house. I never got that far on my own game until recently. Personally, I'd suggest using your own Pokemon, use an Electrode as it out speeds Mewtwo and use Thunder Wave, and lowering accuracy and Defense as much as possible with moves like Flash, and have someone else use Tail Whip. Try using a Pokemon with Ice Beam and hope you freeze it. Since Mewtwo's "weakest" stat is Defense, hit it with someone with a high Attack stat and something that hits hard and is likely to hit, like Body Slam or Mega Punch. You can't really afford to miss anything.

Me and my cousins had a hard time figuring out how to beat mewtwo but then we found out we can freeze him so we got all the Pokémon that use ice beam and eventually this strategy worked we were down to our last Pokémon Lapras and using bubble beam to chip away at his health bar we finally beat him what a great childhood memory

@@Scramblefred2399 My opinion on it is that development teams are way too large these days and the scope gets out of hand. You can have multiple departments working on newer games that never even interact with each other. Back then, teams were usually very small and everyone was able to be on the same page, plus things like art direction would be handled by just a few people, so there was more consistency to it. Again, all just my own outlook on it.

His round 1 moveset is much easier compared to Round 2 where he heals and uses amnesia

@@abran63 theorically its can because in gen 1 when you use explosion opponement def is hightly reduced,so didnt check but i can believe max dv electrod can os a Mewtwo ..though Golem should be a better user of this strategy since his attack is highter than electrod just need to make Mewtwo sleep before exploding

There's a very easy way to beat him. put a pokemon that has thunder wave on your team, and the others put pokemons that have hit kill attacks. The paralyze status increases the chances of hit kills. Just keep spamming the pokemons' hit kill attack and be happy.

i remember beating it with rentals, i picked whatever could survive one hit and paralyze it, then dropped its defense with a blastoise's tail whip while its HP was still full so it couldn't Rest the paralysis off after its defense was lowered i brought exeggcute and onix to explode and deny it turns when it could attack or heal, and if it was still alive after all that, rhydon's earthquake would finish the job

What annoys me is that the Nintendo Switch Online version of this game doesn't allow you to use your own Pokemon in this but only rentals. Granted, it could be because of the tech involved, but it would have been nice if they had figured out how to get the original Game Boy games onto the online service or have the Game Boy games part of the Stadium game itself.
