MEVAGISSEY CORNWALL | Full walking tour of Mevagissey near St Austell in Cornwall UK | A Walking Tour including viillage and harbour and fishing boats - filmed in 4K
Also watch our tour of Padstow Cornwall 👉 • PADSTOW CORNWALL | Ful...
We take the Gimbal Walk TV cameras to the beautiful seaside fishing village of Mevagissey Cornwall for a look around the town and the harbour to see what it's like and what you can expect if you visit there for a holiday or day trip.
If you are looking to find out the rough location of Mevagissey Cornwall then you will find the village just five miles outside of St Austell on the Cornish coast.
You may have seen the village on the Mevagissey Cornwall Webcam or seen a few videos on the place but we thought you might appreciate a more in-depth gentle look around to see what it's really like.
We start the video on the cliff overlooking Mevagissey Harbour with it's cute little ferry boats and fishing boats and walk along the harbourside past the aquarium and into the village for a look around the narrow streets and past the shops and pubs. It's only a small village and fishing port but there's plenty to see and do here.
The fishing port is an extremely busy one and is the second busiest fishing port in the whole of Cornwall. In the harbour is Mevagissey Lighthouse which was built in 1896 to mark the location of the breakwater there and protect the ships (and the breakwater!) from any potential accidents.
At the end of June every summer Mevagissey celebrates Feast Week which is a week of celebration, family fun, dancing and music.
As you can see it's such a beautiful place that Mevagissey is within the Cornwall area of outstanding natural beauty and protected.

Meva holds a very special place in my and my family's heart. Have spent summer holidays there on and off since the late 60s; my mother was the vicar's daughter and lived in Meva for a number of years. We used to stay in a small house on Cliff St and aged 5, I would be sent down the steps to the Market Square where there was a small dairy to buy milk each morning. And we used to while away many an afternoon (at low tide) searching for tiny shells on what you refer to as 'Little Spot' , which I've always known as 'Little Beach'! The harbour is terrific and can just sit for hours watching the world and the boats go by. My own kids love Meva too now, so the connection continues..... many thanks for sharing.

My grandfather was born here and moved to the US when he was 15 with his 19 year old sister, with 4 pounds between them and settled in Sussex, New Jersey. I loved his with all my heart. I visited in 1986. It felt like home.

Wow your opening shot was so amazing! So beautiful! Like a picture postcard! I'm still not bored seeing the pastel colored cottages crowded together looking down on the boats of all shapes and sizes below them. I could sure live there! The seawater looks so clear even with the heavy rainclouds hovering above. Yes, I wish you could get better views of the shop windows. I love to have a look on what they sell in each. I can just imagine what it must be like at Christmas time with lights glimmering in the darkness, magical! Thanks for another interesting walk! )

It's Saturday evening January 29th 2022 and myself and my wife have just watched Meva video. We are just coming to the end of a 10 day isolation having contracted covid so are extremely brassed off as you might imagine. Having seen a few of your other walks looked to Meva and came across your Mevagissey walk, shame about the weather , been coming here years for feast week such a nice place the yellow boat ride is a must especially if there's a bit of a swell it gets airborne. We always stay at an apartment right by the aquarium so not far to wobble after going in the local pubs. Anyway cracking vidio missed your excellent music though. Colin & Patti Smith.

Hi Des Thanks for the tips! You clearly must be an industry professional and I’m always keen to learn! it’s very confusing to me though as what you’re saying is the exact polar opposite of all the feedback I get in so many comments from so many of my viewers and subscribers who say how much they love the subtitles and trivia?!? Do you have a link to your channel so I can see you definitely are speaking from a qualified position and so I can see how many subscribers and viewers you have?l
