dgames no it’s true. Kobe was obviously the best player no question about it. But Ron really was mvp of game 7. I honestly think he won us that chip. I hate to say it but without his performance in game 7, I think the Celtics would have won. Simply put he saved it

I was going to comment the some thing , artest is probably the most genuine one out of all the testimonies or e eulogies I've heard for Kobe. Hands down the most heartfelt and genuine.

I’ve never seen MWP like this. And you can hear the pureness in voice and the emotion on his face. Kobe really inspired everyone. Kobe will be missed by everyone, no doubt.

I wore my Kobe to work the next day. Thought it was dorkie but everyone was talking about it(guys who never talked to me chopped it up). Just horrible for his baby and his wife/other babies but the love the reaction Kobe got felt good. Kobe wasn’t just a sports athlete. When he died it was like a president being shot. Man, Kobe was a true friend and teammate, despite his toughness on the court, off the court he would make sure everybody was good. From going to T Mac’s kids basketball game, doing basketball drills with Matt Barnes kids for their birthday, keeping in contact with Shaq’s kids regularly, helping Metta in his life after basketball, mentoring some of the new young stars in the league (Kawhi, Kyrie, Hayward). Even in his death, his reason for wanting to fly was to get his daughter and teammates to their game. It’s gonna takes some months to get over this one, I feel for his loved ones, it may take them years, STAY STRONG.

I’ve personally interacted with Ron several times when I valeted cars in college. He’s legit one of the nicest NBA players I’d ever met.

Can’t say the same for Russel Westbrook. Valeted for him a few times and he never said thank you let alone tipped us. His wife still comes in and also has a similar “better than you” attitude. Even Candace Parker (Sparks player), who makes considerably less was super nice and gave a nice tip.

xombi - first of all, can we acknowledge the valet brotherhood? In Sacto, it was like a fraternity (without the douchey-ness). But yeah man, I can tell you my all time favorite player to valet was Chris Webber (except the couple times I parked him with Tyra Banks -they always seemed to be fighting, and it often effed our tip from him). The most C-Webb tipped me was $400. I also loved Stoudemire & Nash, Shaq was surprisingly really funny and cool, Kobe was nice enough, Peja was always cool. The absolute hands down worst player ever: Mike Bibby. He and his crew (Team Dime) got banned from numerous restaurants/clubs in Downtown Sac. It was a struggle to get him to pay the valet fee, let alone tip us! One time, I found his wallet in the middle of the parking lot. It must’ve had $3,000 packed in it. I never stole a thing while being in people’s cars -I always felt it was bad karma for our tips. Plus it’s just wrong. It never even crossed my mind to touch the cash. So I run his wallet up to him in the VIP of the night club, tell him the story of finding it in the parking lot. He looks at me as if i did something wrong and says “you didn’t take nothin did ya?” And I just looked at him like “are you f*cking kidding me?!” Like, I kinda wash I had now that you’re “thanking” me like this. He searched thru the hundreds to find a $50 and gave that to me, but not before he said “this is for me and my brother’s cars too.” Which again, barely covered the valet fee 😒

Crazy Atlanta huh. His impact was felt all over the world and it shows. I live in LA I was with my daughter at the time in the parking lot of IHOP waiting to pick up her food when my friend from DC texted me did you hear about Kobe? I was like no what he got arrested? She was like no he died. I said please dont say that. Please don't. She said its true friend I'm sorry. She knew I loved Kob. My 8 year old daughter had to wipe the tears from her father's eyes smh it hit me hard. Today is the first day I haven't cried

Yes, Kobe was loved in Atlanta and everywhere... everyone will always remember when they first heard the news... i woke up that lazy Sunday morning and noticed the hazy weather... went down to the living room eat my breakfast/brunch and my mom came in saying is it true Kobe Bryant died? When I saw the headline on my phone late Sunday morning, I fell on my knees and sat on the floor crying hard. My heart was hurting so much and in disbelief. I keep thinking that Kobe would survive this and they would find him alive. It's still hard to accept that Kobe's gone. I've cried so much. I'm heartbroken like I lost a loved one.

This has been a very emotional and devastating experience.

When everyone had given up on Ron and he was traded to the Lakers as a last ditch effort Kobe took him to the side and let him know that in this team we don't play games. And if you want to be part of this team don't bring your crap with you--- basically in loose paraphrasing. I think Ron always had a respect for Kobe and this up front conversation raised his level of respect because now he's on Kobe's turf. Kobe didn't shove him away as a problem child he took Ron right under his wing when he saw that he was really working through not only some mental illness but his professional goals as well. We never know what people are going through and it doesn't hurt to take that extra minutes to work with somebody who's really trying. And time and time again all I hear is the stories of Kobe doing this with the folks that nobody wanted to deal with. That's a life of service that goes far beyond points and championships. I love the saying that people may not remember what you told them, they may not even remember some of the things you did but they'll always remember how you made them feel. And though there's a spotlight on what Kobe did because he's a public figure I have no doubt that the people that he surrounded himself, that were on the helicopter, were the same type of people. Everyone who knows Kobe said he surrounded himself with greatness and I have no doubt those same individuals are missed for the same reasons. Don't not take one second for granted, so that if our day ends today people will remember how we made them feel. God bless folks.

I watched the Showtime documentary about Metta about two weeks ago. Kobe talked about his convo with him after the '09 loss in the opening. How things change in the blink of an eye. But this dude right here is so real and so thoughtful his sincerity just bleeds through. I know he's got to be hurting.

I was rewatching the 60 game and how happy Ron was for Kobe and he looked so proud

Ron Artest is a bright man. I can feel his pain. We are all feeling a certain way because this was a shock, out of the blue. If people ask me how I feel about this loss, I tell them I’m sad. I cried the following day after he passed. I’m sad because not only was he a great player, he also made Millions of people happy through his hard work ethic. His impact on the World was very motivating and he will most certainly be missed by many people.

Mr World Peace, I met you as a 9 year old kid at the Lakers vs Heat game in 2009(Kobe Buzzer Beater over Dwade). You came out the tunnel before the game and came up to me rubbed my head, complimented my glasses and my haircut. I’ll never forget that game. To have that once in a lifetime experience to see my favorite player of all time Kobe Bryant live and for you to give me that memory i’ll never forget it in my life. Thank you! RIP Kobe, Gigi and everyone involved.❤️

You can tell by the way he's talking, his body language and facial expression everything is from the heart.

Metta, such an honest eulogy..always wearing his heart on his sleeve. It's safe to say thay Kobe played a huge part in bringing this kind man out of a league's most dangerous man.

It’s so true what he said...” who knows what else it’s affecting” Who would think it’s affecting me... a 52 years young woman, not really a huge Basketball fan... but this isn’t really a basketball story. It’s a human story. On one hand I’ve been so very sad for the 4 days since the accident. Just hurting so much for his wife and daughters, for all the basketball players and coaches I’ve seen cry... for the loss of such a bright light and his mini bright light, Gianna. And on the other hand I’ve become so incredibly inspired by everything I’m learning about him and all he’s done, and has continued to do after retirement. I’ve been at a cross roads and hearing about the mamba mentality has really helped me. And it’s always nice to see so much love happening.

MWP is one of the most hardened men who has seen and felt a lot of suffering and loss in his life. To see and hear his voice breaking and holding back tears is tough. Kobe had a special impact. Rest easy Mamba, you will never be forgotten.and thank you MVP for the heartfelt words.

I remember when Ron artest made that game winner against the suns and he ran and hugged Kobe lol, also when they beat the Celtics and he said “Kobe got me a Ring” you can tell he really respected him

This interview was so touching, I hated to see it end....Makes you wish Kobe himself was here to see it !!!

Ron so pure and sincere on this interview. You can see in his eyes how heart broken he is but trying to hold back the tears. No sarcasm. Just being honest.

This is a man who worked HARD on bettering himself and fighting his 'demons'. And at the same time trying to operate in the highest levels in his sport. There's nothing harder: Except losing a friend who was doing the same thing.

Kobe!i will miss this guy.Been watching him since i was a child that i made him a tribute video, made me cry and cant concentrate making it. My childhood basketball hero..Thanks kobe for making my childhood awesome

He reminds me of Mike Tyson in certain aspects. Both had traumatic childhoods resulting in overly aggresive, violent defensive behavioural reactions (which they realize about themselves) at times but i admire their courage to humble themselves in spite of the past and the fear of being socially unsophisticated. That is all you can ask of anyone. It's a beautiful thing to watch a troubled soul finding their way to the light. Thank-you Mike and Metta for your courage and thank-you Kobe for having the courtesy, patience and love for Metta. RIP LEGEND!

Sincere and real.

All these interviews really put into perspective how much of an impact this astonishing man was. He always had pressure and all eyes on him but his greatness made him outshine and become the greatest.👑💞we lost a king but gained a Legend.
