Metromedia Producers Corporation was established from Wolper Productions in 1968 after David L. Wolper broke apart from Metromedia (Wolper Productions was later relaunched in 1970). On March 6, 1986, Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation acquired MPC and with it, the television stations owned by Metromedia for $3.5 billion. MPC was folded into 20th Century Fox Television, Metromedia Square became "Fox Television Center", and the former Metromedia-owned television stations were incorporated as the Fox Television Stations in April. These programs are now distributed worldwide by 20th Television. With the exception of The Merv Griffin Show, which MPC handled co-production and distribution from 1972 to 1983, which was later transferred to King World Productions (now "CBS Television Distribution") and Columbia Pictures Television (now "Sony Pictures Television") in 1986.

Really enjoyed this Jonty, and thanks for taking my request! It's interesting to see how quick you made this after your RedeTV! video. Speaking of which, I made a logo history on Metromedia three years ago (as you mentioned in the chat), but I also remember LogicSmash's when it came out in 2015 when I was eleven at the time. Nice to see a logo history on Metromedia follow-up after July 2015, July 2018 and July 2021! Speaking of the rare captures in this video, I've never seen the first logo from c.1965 before, it looks like a prototype to the following logo from 1969. Great video as always and looking forward to Rede Globo! Thanks for the shout-out in the description too!

Wow! I never knew that you and LogicSmash made a Metromedia LH on the same month! There is also a pattern here! 3 years after LogicSmash did a LH on Metromedia, you decided do your take on it, and 3 years later after you did it, I did my own take! The 1965 logo is quite rare indeed! I never knew it existed until now! Glad to hear that you're looking forward to my next logo history!

The Metromedia Producers Corporation MPC of doom logo was unplastered on a movie shown on Fox Movie Channel (Now FX Movie Channel and FXM Retro), when the 20th Century Fox Television logo was added on as the logo reading "20th Television Fox" was shown as in animation which covered up "Century" in its logo.
It's very cool that you featured that WXIX jingle at the eñd. Brings back vivid memories of days watching TV in Cincinnati.
