Yesterday, I decided to go film a video of the brand new Metrolink station on the Antelope Valley line. Vista Canyon was completed just a couple weeks ago and opened for service along with the schedule expansion that Metrolink made on the Antelope Valley line. It is Santa Clarita’s fourth Metrolink station! Here’s a day at the station from about 7am to 6pm. 12 Metrolink trains and 1 Union Pacific train are featured.
Next week I will be sharing a narrated tour video I did of this station. The designers put a lot of thought into the station and incorporated the history of the area and the rail line directly into everything. Almost everything at this station was designed to be symbolic and it was awesome to walk through!
The platform is what is known as an Island platform. These aren’t exactly my favorites for railfanning but it eliminates pedestrian grade crossings which i’m sure the railroad likes. So I hope you enjoy this video showing off some action at Metrolink’s Newest Station!
