@@rust770 Holy shit that was fast, and yeah I guessed so, but I think the originally commenter meant that it was the first game RELEASED after Super Metroid to not have Mother Brain turn into a monster thing

I swear, when I was younger, Robo Ridley crawling towards you, making those horrible scraping noises was the most horrifying thing.

It is fast if you have a decent route with as little backtracking as possible. That and the fact that in game time isn't all that accurate because certain things don't count up to the timer.

The charge beam item is an animal thing puking a disc with a c on it. FANTASTIC.

Evolution of Ridley battles? The ones in nintendoland count ;)

kraid looks much better here than in Super Metroid

I like the animation of the game

I want to see an all damage boss rush. That'd when eery enemy attack hits you but you still win.

Jesus this game looks amazing I love the art style. The progression and gameplay is also amazing. This game is a really good 2d metroid game

@@avocadeous Neo Ridley is hell on 1% runs but he's pretty easy if you have enough energy tanks and use charged shots with no missiles. I had no problem with 9% Ridley in Zero Mission though with the pattern abuse of standing under him

I played and finished this game on my SNES Classic. It was an awesome experience, playing it on my tv. Felt like I was running an SNES 16 bit game, with the CRT filter on. The game is pretty amazing but hard as nails, once you get to that Zero Suit part of the game. Took me like 9 to 10 tries to finally get to the last mechanical boss lol. It was sooo hard not getting detected by the last set of space pirates, before the last save point. The mechanical Ridley killed me 4 times before I figured out the pattern just right. Getting those jumps just right, to get the rockets to hit their mark, took some time. The wall jumping ability is a lot harder to pull off here than on the SNES too. Must be even more precise. Still, awesome game. Totally recommend it to anyone who loved Super Metroid. Now, I'm going to dive into Metroid Fusion. :)

@@link5605 Yes. It is. I got to play it with my modded SNES mini (classic) console, though. I have a handful of emulators on it. So I can play GBA games on my tv, as well as some DS games and so on.

The wall jump is pretty simple if you remember this little trick: Don't press the buttons at the same time; wait a small bit before pressing A

Try a 15% or less run, then you can say that it is hard. I did it and it was one of the most difficult things I ever did. I can't even imagine doing a 15% run on hard mode, doing it on normal mode was hard enough.

Did you know you can get super missle tanks early and skip the imago boss?

to this day, I haven't beaten that bitch Mother Brain... Also am I the only one who finds Kraid kinda cute? It's probably because of the "Gheghegheghe" voice the Game Grumps gave him, but also because his little shuffle that he uses to move is adorable. Like those dragons in Shovel Knight that just pull themselves forward to move! It's cute!

Robert Hudson It's one of those Kiru Giru grubs, you know like the one you shoot the belly of and the one you push back Crocomire style? This one is just entangled and you fight it similar to Spore Spawn. Fun fact, it becomes that wasp thing called Imago.

Uhhh, I let the Deorem, (or the gross worm that serves as the first boss) escape too many times, when will it respawn again so I can get the Charge Beam? Nvm, I already beat the game with the Charge Beam

Unpopular opinion: I didn't care for the stealth bit or the weird robot Ridley battle. It completely messed with the forward momentum of the game, robot Ridley was such a bizarre choice, and it created SOOO much unnecessary backtracking, like why introduce power bombs and gravity suit at the very end of the game? Well so you can go back through the ENTIRE game to get items you couldn't before, apparently. Like there was no reason to include those things. The stealth maybe would have worked better as an intro to the game, like maybe it's the origins of her suit and after she completes the ghost battle the game starts proper
