I always loved Metroid, so with with this game finally out, I figured I'd give a helping hand for others who want to learn more about the tech a little deeper, just like I would like to.

Great tutorial! The morph ball single wall jump is important because it allows you to jump up to the magnet pad in the second part of the Kraid fight, which potentially saves anywhere from a few seconds to 20-ish seconds based on RNG giving you the spike attack or not (and thus also makes the fight less RNG-heavy).
Great tutorial! Reminds me of neutral jumps from celeste.
Underrated video, this is useful af
I accidentally discovered the flash shift version myself then saw the morph ball version in a speedrun and decided to look this up, great guide!
Thanks for this. I found the morph ball wall jump really hard and I couldn't figure it. This explanation very clearly described what I was doing wrong though.
I GOT IT LET’S FINALLY!! Now just have to pull it off in an actual run! Thank you!!
You did good bro keep it up ✊🏾
This is so much harder than it looks
Considering a lot of vertical walls have these slanted design that just completely prevents you from wall jumping, I am not entirely sure if this will be too helpful but maybe it can open up a sequence break that makes the game even more open.

It's useful for 0% to help get early bombs and Grapple Beam. The route for earlier bombs uses one same wall walljump

I wanna say I saw it in a run in the room where you kill ice e.m.m.i. to get to the top left faster than bomb jumping, but idk which one because most of the runs I watch skip ice missiles entirely
I'd like to know what this area is

So much harder than it looks! 😅 Was looking into this for cutting time on Kraid for the boss rush but fuck it, this and that supersonic beam mashing are WAY too much effort lol.
How tf do ppl find this stuff? (I'm depressed.)

It's just the determination to find an exploit and trying to think out the box. Soon as I saw the Flash Shift in those Nintendo trailers, I knew damn well that'd let you single wall jump. Then I came across another guy on KZread showing off the morph ball wall jump, but found out that it was hard af to do, so I just iterated on that and tested every possible combination I could think of til I could make it significantly more consistent, which led me to this vid haha.

@@HighLanderPonyYT lol aye I just found the time between work to do all this. I'm sure if you put the time into it, you could find a speed strat, too 👍

@@LucidTUN3S Never been a speedrunner but the ending art would be nice. Thx! :)
K but how can any of this be done without the morphball....i actually managed to get myself stuck in the begining 1st emmi..lmaooo Yes ive passed the game countless of times and at 0% items also but i was messing around and im now stuck...lmfaooo
I guess this is useful if you can't morphball bomb jump

You do get the morph ball a considerable amount of time before getting the bombs (I think it's the first "sequence break" power up), so I think it'd prob be worth learning it to try to sequence break stuff early. I gotta test and see where this could be applied to.
god I hate the fact that this game doesn't accept buttons for movement so much
