Because the children are very disrespectful and get away with it. That's the real reason...no accountability.

Also...to sub a subject im not familiar with i have to cram the night before if I am even sent the lesson plan ahead of time. There was zero expectation for me to do that. I prefer not teaching. I feel like a normal adult again

Please stop with the stipends. They give us $8,000.00 more to work at low performing schools but it is rationed to pay every 3 months not an incentive to make teacher stay. We need the money weekly not every three months, a d the teachers are still leaving in droves. All of this is so not fair. I bring home $1,100.00 every two weeks one check only covers my rent because I have to pay for benefits out of my check and we do not even pay into Social Security because of the way our retirement is automatically taken from all employees paychecks whether we plan to retire with the system or not. In Australia the entry level Salary for teachers start at $74,301.00 Shame on our Country....

On top of $ I've seen plenty of interviews of teachers that are not safe in the classroom anymore. What about the dangers in the classroom? kids with no home training, followed by their parents catching attitude with teachers, the potential threat of shootings/stabbings.

Are we sure this person doesn't need an extra job because they are driving a Jeep Wrangler and has expensive photography equipment??? From what I hear, the real issue is teacher don't feel supported nor heard by central office administrators. They don't feel valued by students nor administrators. Sure, more pay helps but it doesn't solve the underlying problem. Teachers are awesome, stop trying to control them from a central office and let them support their kiddos as they see fit!
