I agree. I hadn't listened to it in years. A few months ago it popped in my head & I put it on while my gf was in the car & proceeded to blast it & sing along. I enjoy it from start to finish.

I saw them play this song live many years ago (in the US) and thought there is no way this band won't break through. To me it shows the brick wall of the music industry if you are independent. Yes, some indie bands have broken through, but if you look at the whole of it, even the ones that break through have to make (serious) concessions just to do so. It's sick, and is making (industry sustainable) music today suck. This album is indeed a masterpiece and only music nerds and Canadians will know it. "Too Little Too Late" is another absolute stand out that should been heard by so many more. I've done my part, it's not enough for what they deserve. The lyrics and the guitars convey the sultry and dirty like no other modern rock song. It's perfect

I love the line "sickness was fixing me some/coughed out my heart in the last stall/now that the damage is done/I never miss it at all"

There was no way out, the only way out was to give in There was no way out, the only way out was to give in How I love to, how I love to How I love to give in Here no one sleeps, one lays up while the other lies down Where no one sleeps, one lays up while the other lies down Ask the line on your face what the line on your hand meant We couldn't see what was coming Shake your head it's empty Shake your hips move your feet Shake your head it's empty Shake your hips move your feet I'm so glad that I'm an island now Sickness was fixing me some Coughed out my heart in the last stall Now that the damage is done I never miss it at all

Masterpiece of a song. Listened to it all throughout my 20s and now my (late) 30s. One of the best Canadian bands ever. 🇨🇦

I went to see them in 2009, I was like 13 and it was my first concert ever! And in 2019 they came back to my town and we saw them again. It was amazing. I heart metric forever.

Yeah, I first heard Metric back in January 2014 in Winnipeg, listening to CBC's The Signal. Never heard them here in Europe. Many cool songs, and what a voice! I especially like the diverse music in the songs and the lyrics. Now my favourite group.

I think this record sorta turned me into some version of a feminist when I first found it in like 2005ish at the age of 16.
