I grew up less than a mile from the birthplace of Robert Burns, writer of Auld Lang Syne. It's the one of the few things my hometown has going for it, after the factories shut, the 2008 recession and whatever is yet to come after this year. I was desperate to leave as a kid, and I did. This year, unable to visit, I've come to view it and my younger self with a fondness rather than distance. I'm the same person from that town who discovered Metric at 15 in the spare bedroom when I desperately needed an escape, and now Metric have helped take me home again. Thank you.

I know my wife, who has anxiety, will appreciate this. Myself, I love everything you do. You could sing me the phone book and I'd be happy.

Yes metric is one of the very few bands that I like every song.

This was a perfect song to hear, today of all days. Six years ago today my brother died of suicide. This morning I watched the film It's a Wonderful Life (which the traditional song Auld Lang Syne is sung at the end) I always cry at the end of the movie thinking if only my brother knew how he made a positive empact in my life and I am sure to others as well. I hope those who silently suffer have the courage to tell someone how they feel and know they are not alone and they are loved, never feel ashamed if you suffer from anxiety or depression. Seek help, there is always hope 💜

Coming from someone who suffers from an anxiety disorder this means alot so thank you Metric for always being amazing.

That beautiful voice has been the soundtrack to my world travels. Peruvians and Chinese and Colombians and of course Mexicans love Metric when I play some of their songs...this one felt so intimate. So honoured to be one of the first to hear it.

I'd always thought of "Speed The Collapse" as uncannily summarizing 2020, despite having been written several years before. This actually is about 2020, and is spot on.

I love that this is a fan exclusive, but I also want to add it to my Spotify playlist. 🙃
