It's March 2021 and I just discovered this band a week ago. I am completely in love with them. I've heard every single song of theirs available on Spotify and now I'm watching their videos on KZread. They have this air of hope around them. They make me feel hopeful and understood. Their music is just so heartwarming. I'm very glad I found them.

Lots of great singers and actors have major anxiety issues. They can deal with it when they’re on stage or on camera, so you’d never suspect, but watch them just trying to have a conversation with someone they don’t know, and they’re suddenly the world’s biggest introvert.

@@rockoperajon I used to deal with very bad social anxiety, but for some reason I never had trouble performing on-stage. Same thing when it comes to dancing, moshing or stage diving at other bands' concerts. Music just removes my inhibitions I guess.

As Pete Townshend once wrote, the greatest motivator of the artist in me is my insecurities. He wrote that on that 1993 album Psychoderelict. A brilliant but flawed album the draws upon his experiences as an artist and from his many projects that failed to bring to light, like lifehouse.

I'd like to thank that one person on Yahoo Answers who recommended this song to me. I'll never know who they were because their account was private and their username just showed up as a question mark, but it's a really good song and thank you.

For high school graduation we all made a slide show with silly pictures with this song playing in the background. It's beeen over 10 years and it still makes me nostalgic

I'm very old but when I was a kid I used to fantasize about being in a band where everyone was super talented and we all liked/loved each other and the lead singer was gorgeous, had style, a bit of wicked attitude and miles of talent. This video makes me feel that way. I want to be in this band. Just the way she comes toward the stage... so excited to be with her guys and ready to really put on a show!

I miss when Canada had a proper music scene... I miss OG Much Music. When Canadian art/culture was unique and special and youth really followed it... Remember seeing bands like Metric, Bedouin Soundclash, Alexis etc in College and it was just a great time. Still great canadian bands out there, but they don't get the recognition they deserve, by other canadians.

I can't believe this is 17 years old though, its crazy. I was just a kid when I listened to this and she was playing shows in Victoria. My first show ever was Hot Hot Heat when I was 13 as well. So much fun music back then.

This song makes me feel very emotional... It's not even a sad song it's just the vibe of it and the power of Emily's words trying to lift up our spirit after a hard time, having experience something bad, or even when you are at a state where you can't see any light.... 'after all this is gone, who would you rather be?' It's as if she tells you to look forward for the better days and she reassures you that whatever is happening to you now will pass and urges us to focus on the exciting part that awaits. This is one of the many aspects of this song!

She even dabbled in fashion. She came up with a vest for mothers that has tons of pockets on the inside so you can be just strapped with baby supplies, and the way she described it, it's the most, mad, marvelous thing.

Haven't heard this song in like a year or two, but it's been playing in my head over the last week or so. Such a great song.

It's really refreshing to hear rock style music in clubs and on the radio. You can dance to this without being annoyed by the typical dance music. Theres a substance to this, it makes you feel something.

Their songs are really rich and textured. I like these guys a lot.

I love Metric they give me a sense of freedom. When I feel really heavy. People who I love can say simple things like they care of my well-being, that's how simple I am and they will have my attention. Then it takes one mean act and I add my twist and Na I don't roll that way. I'll roll the right way with you. Idk anymore. I just realised I'm a forgiving person. If I consider you I mean it. If I say I love you I mean it. I'm not perfect but I never expected you to be either. FML

The Metric, thank you!

I fell in love with Metric during the dark days of covid. She gave me hope with a banger of a song. She is absolutely gorgeous and this is a great video and song. I love the way she moves her shoulders and legs with her unique dancing style. They never signed to a record company and mix and produce their albums with clever guitarist James Shaw. They are all multi-instrumentalists - Stay Independent !!!! ❤ 🇨🇦

I also need to add after seeing many music videos in my life this one is one of my top favorites. Innovative idea, authentic, complements the song while producing an interesting and entertaining video without the need to a lot BS over production. The costume changes were NOT CG! Just great planning and shooting. The kids in butterfly wings at the end is just the cherry on top.
