Thanks for the timestamps! I loved watching your genuine reaction to these! I'll say the Reputation tour is no longer on Netflix but there are WAYS, well worth watching for the intro alone. Fireworks, literally. She sings Dancing With Our Hands tied as acoustic with just a guitar and it's just as good! Edit: she has a literal WATER FOUNTAIN on the stage at the end there.

Okay, Swiftie here, I Did Something Bad and Look What You Made Me Do are both very theatrical songs. Its hard to appreciate them just by listening. You need to watch the Music Video or Live Performances. It really makes the biggest difference!!
This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things is soooooooo underrated and underappreciated!!! It's so condescending and petty but in that amazing Taylor "you started it messy, ima finish it for you clean" way. The builds and layers, those minor piano keys, so 80s throwback made relevant ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Ah yes my favorite Ke$ha song - Poker Face 😂
WHAT KIM AND KANYE DID TO TAYLOR - PART TWO After Kanye played the song during the live-stream at his fashion show that Thursday, people immediately took to Twitter and it blew up all over social media. The lyrics started another trend on social media as everyone started reacting to them - just as he knew they would. When Taylor heard the actual lyrics to Famous along with everyone else, she knew she'd been played and betrayed. She was outraged. Her brother Austin posted a picture of himself burning his Kanye sneakers. Tree Paine, spokeswoman for Swift, released a statement that same Thursday night, clarifying the facts. According to the statement Tree Paine said, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single “Famous” on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such as strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, “I made that bitch famous.” The next day, Friday morning, West denied this in his tweet responding to Paine's on Twitter claiming the idea for the line was “Actually something Taylor came up with", another lie causing yet another wave of controversy and headlines. Unbeknownst to Taylor, by responding publicly, she had played right into West's hands. It was all part of his nefarious masterplan. He was banking on Taylor making her righteous anger public. His whole plan hinged on it. He had made his betrayal particularly underhanded and insulting to ensure, without doubt, that Taylor would react exactly as she did, thereby, unwittingly, setting into motion the scandal, controversy and media storm he was banking on. What ensued was a media frenzy of news stories, gossip, worldwide headlines, interviews and articles that went on and on for months. It also brought back public sympathy for West, allowing him to re-brand himself as the poor innocent victim this time, while casting Taylor as the evil liar and manipulator - a win win. On February 14, he released Life Of Pablo. His situation had gone from no one caring that he was releasing an album, to everybody talking about him and buying his album to hear the song Famous with its infamous lyrics. The next night, February 15 at the Grammys, despite not being there, he was the only person everyone was talking about because of his controversial Cosby tweets and insulting lyrics about Taylor. He knew it was going to be a big night for Taylor - she was nominated for nine Grammys that night. She won three, including the highest honour - Grammy for Album of the Year for her brilliant album 1989. Kanye had contrived to steal as much attention away from her big night (and everyone else) as possible by insinuating himself into every conversation, including Taylor’s. In her acceptance speech, she addressed Kanye’s lyrics about making her famous head on without actually mentioning him by name, but everyone knew who she was talking about regardless. Kanye was, without doubt, ecstatic. His name was on everyone’s lips and he was basking in the glow of the world’s attention again. It didn’t matter to him how he got there. These were the desperate moves of a classless, jealous and mediocre narcissist. Kanye wasn’t afraid of notoriety. If he couldn't get headlines for anything good, he’d settle for outrageously bad. His biggest fear was losing the public’s interest so, he was always looking for ways to “stir the pot.” He had accomplished that in spades. Unfortunately for Taylor, he had much more up his sleeve where she was concerned. She was the vehicle of his self-promotion. For the next few months, she would become the innocent pawn in his self-promoting machinations. Their names would be inextricably linked. With her Grammy wins and her album’s success there was naturally a lot of attention on Taylor. Unfortunately for her, every time her name was mentioned in articles, for any reason, so was Kanye’s in the same sentence. The scandal surrounding the lyrics to Famous was always lurking in the background. Like a parasite, he benefitted enormously from Taylor’s success and from the success of the lie he had manufactured about her. Every time the scandal died down, West or Kardashian would resurrect it, milking it for all it was worth. Kardashian gave an interview in Vogue on June 16, 2016, reiterating the false narrative that Taylor was lying, saying about her, "She totally approved that." The next day, June 17 Kardashian took to social media, adding insult to injury, calling Taylor a snake. Twitter had a meltdown. All of Kim's and Kanye's millions of sycophants tweeted snake emojis at Taylor. The hashtag "Taylor is over party" was the #1 trending thing on Twitter for a while. A month later, on July 18, 2016, Kardashian leaked the edited recording of the infamous phone conversation setting off another media frenzy, calling it "proof" that Taylor had approved the lyrics and was lying. Taylor herself went on social media to ask, "where in that recording do I approve him calling me a bitch? It doesn't exist because it never happened." Adding further insult to injury, Kanye also released the music video for Famous in July, which included a life-size mannequin of Taylor, putting her naked likeness in bed with him, implying they'd had sex, proving once again, imo, that he is a morally bankrupt douchebag. Ditto his bimbo ex wife "Honey"...hence the line, "This is why we can't have nice things honey" Taylor went into hiding, disappearing from public view for a year. No one saw her or took a single photo of her. She left her house in capes or was carried out in suitcases by her security. She gave no interviews. Even after Reputation's release, a year later, she gave zero press. She said only one thing: "There will be no explanation, only Reputation." Five years later, when the entire unedited recording was leaked on social media, proving Taylor that had been telling the truth all along and hence proving that Kim and Kanye had lied - Kardashian dismissed it by tweeting it was old news and that Taylor was just resurrecting the past again, looking for attention, deflecting her culpability in the incident and downplaying that anything of real significance had happened. Neither West, Kardashian or Braun were ever called out or questioned by the media for lying or for the truly evil thing they had done to Taylor. Nevertheless, anyone with a brain took note of their unrepentant manipulation of the media and of Taylor. It clearly revealed that they were not to be trusted. The stunt exposed them for the despicable sleaze bags they really are. Nevertheless, their fans continue to idolize them proving the adage, “It's easier to fool people, than convince them they are being fooled." Mark Twain.

Damn
17:29 when you say “Taylor Swift please make a rap album”, Reputation is the closest she will ever get to making one. She heavily tapped into elements of hip hop and trap production. Which reflect the time it was released, trap music was at the peak of its popularity in the late 2010’s. 23:48 did you know Taylor was an extremely successful Country singer? She has a diamond-selling Country album, “Fearless” (2008). She only crossed over into Pop waaayyy later 😅 44:25 “Dancing with Our Hands Tied” is one of my favs too, it deserves more love! I’ll end by saying you enjoyed this album, however, the Recording Academy (who usually adores Taylor) shockingly snubbed ‘Reputation’ from the Grammys. It’s likely they didn’t care for the album’s electronic & hip-hop influence, and probably found the lyrics and subject matter weaker than her previous work. They wouldn’t give her Grammys again until she returned to the guitar with the“Folklore” album, which she won ‘Album of the Year’ for.
Not sure if anyone’s mentioned it but!!! When you listen to her albums make sure if there is a Taylor’s Version you choose that one, right now there is a Taylor’s Version of Fearless Speak Now Red 1989 The ones to not have a Taylor’s Version are Debut (yet) Reputation (yet) Folklore, Evermore, Lover, and Midnights are all owned by her as well!! If you stream the “non Taylor version” it is supporting the people who went behind her back and stole her master albums from her. Love your reactions!! 🩷

"I really like pop music." LOL. That is a legit realization. Love it for you.
I wasn’t a big fan of I Did Something Bad either when I first heard it. Then she reformed live at the VMAs and I was absolutely blown away- it was an iconic performance and she managed to make as dynamic on tour as well. Now I think it one of her best songs on this album. I hope you will check out her videos and live performances as well- think you will really love them. She it’s a LOT of $ into her videos.

Taylor isn’t “Hard”. She’s SOLID . That’s why we’ve been with her! She has been laying bars on bars on bars for three decades. All that said.❤❤❤❤❤❤
so my favourite thing about learning more about Taylor, was when I started watching her live and studio performances and realised her live voice is even better than her album tracks. There's just something grittier about the sounds and it really works. Especially Rep tour and Long pond sessions
Reps is such a transition album it comes out the gate all front, all bravado, and then as it goes on you peel back the layers and get to the insecurities underneath
You need to watch the Reputation Stadium Tour movie and hear all these song in live performances. It's the best. Especially King Of My Heart. The giant drums on stage are incredible. It changed how I heard the song after seeing it.

Most of Taylor Swift's songs are not autobiographical, so you shouldn't assume the "toxicity" is reflective of her past relationships. It's true we have experienced seeing her grow up and mature. She is a true storyteller and has lots of tales to share. Don't forget she also has friends who can share their life and love experiences.
