A COUPLE THINGS I WANTED TO CLARIFY: Some other common side effects that I forgot to include in the video: Fatigue and mouth sores. I have not personally experienced that, but I have seen some patients experience that too. Always talk with your doctor about any concerns you have :) Starting methotrexate DOES NOT mean that you can never have a child. It just means the methotrexate has to be fully out of your system before it is safe to try to conceive. Ask your rheumatologist what they recommend. I have been told personally to wait 3 to 6 months after stopping methotrexate before trying to conceive.

I have to start methotrexate soon. I have to start birth control first, like you said, before my doctor feels comfortable enough to start me. Love your information videos. All of them have helped me so much to relax a little more.

I’m starting methotrexate in two days and I’m so nervous. My doctor seems pretty confident that I will be okay but all I’ve heard from people is how horrible the side effects are. Yours is the only positive experience I’ve heard so far but this video makes it seems less scary.

To supress my eczema i first tried lighttherapy, didn’t work.. then they gave me prednison.. worked a bit but i got bloated and gained a lot of weight.. then they gave me methotrexate, had to ingest the highest they could gave me.... been on it for almost a year and worked badly.. i had a hard time being dizzy and nauseous.. now i’m on dupixent and it’s a whole different journey.. the shots are painful and it still isn’t working the optimal.. my eczema is still getting worse all the time..

I'm sorry to hear you're going through such a hard time. I know that eczema is an unpleasant skin condition, but don't have experience with it myself. In rheumatology, I saw more psoriatic arthritis. When you say your eczema is causing problems, what does that look like? I'd like to learn more about it from someone who deals with it :)

I take 6 once a week. I'm not sure why I have to take this medicine when I tested negative for both RA and Sarcoidosis. However my doctor says I still have inflammation somewhere 🤷🏿

It's odd how sometimes doctors can see the autoimmune arthritis but it not show enough clues to fit a specific diagnosis outside of inflammatory arthritis 😕

When I was on it, it helped relieve the intensity of pain (nowhere specific) and fatigue. It took about a month for me to feel some improvement. It also can enhance the effectiveness of other rheumatology meds.

I am not on it anymore because I don't need it anymore. My health has been improving drastically this year and got off almost all my meds (not just the RA ones) without needing to go back.

Honestly, I started having noticeable pain here and there years before I started experiencing RA pains in 2018. I don't really know how to describe those pains prior, it's like quick random pains that I notice and quickly forget. Have you experienced something similar?
