I didn’t care for this song too much after a few listens. After watching the movie the song and the meaning behind it becomes a lot more clear. This song is so much better with the context of the film.

I started watching Metalocalypse about a month or two ago lol, perfect timing

I recommend watching the movie for context. It hits way harder when you see what lead up the song's creation. Its the most "heart on the sleve" and broken that Nathan can possibly be.

Brendan just got better as a vocalist, but also, i think he isnt trying as hard to be funny in the song. Practice has a funny way of improving your skill, even if you aren't trying. It's amazing to see how far he has progressed as a musician. I'm glad he has let the handicaps off of his vocal style too, I think with the early Metalocalypse seasons and the first couple Dethalbums, Brendan was trying to annunciate so the casual audience could better understand the lyrics and connect to the songs from a more scaled back casual perspective. Listening to Dethalbum I, you can tell it is more of a gag, with the vocal style being purposeful and deliberate. This is Dethklok for real death metal fans, with the brakes cut and the gas pressed down, I love hearing a more legit and less goofy sound from these talented cartoons.

One hell of a shit take. The first dethalbum had goofy songs but that hasnt been the standard by a long shot. Doomstar Requiem had some silly songs in it sure but that wasnt a dethalbum it was a soundtrack for a movie, kinda like how the first album was a soundtrack for the first season.

Ugh… you’re disappointing… watch the movie 😅
