Definitely! Roger wrote most of the lyrics. He left and, to my mind, I don't think they had success with the other bassist. I mean he's good! Roger's bass playing is simple, but check out the way he keeps time. There are many bands that cover Pink Floyd, yet rarely do I hear a song rendered right.

It's not fair when you compare Hetfield to Ozzy in his prime. Of course Hetfield can't sing it. Ozzy was untouchable in those days.
@j800r
5 жыл бұрын
You're giving Ozzy too much credit. The truth is simply that he COULD sing in those days. I think they're playing it in the original key here which is not James' natural key. That will be why he's struggling. I don't even think the Garage inc recording was in the original key.
@johnnybravo8605

I love Metallica. But, there is something about Black Sabbath. I guess its the word SOUL. A mystical spiritual depth. No speed guitarist, no "Best drummer" in the world, can imitate soul. BLACK SABBATH, the spiritual masters of Metal. They are like the YODA of metal, masters with a huge depth that will last for ever.

I’m not a Metallica fan by any means (don’t hate them just prefer other bands) but it seems like they have a lot of genuine respect and admiration for the bands that came before them like Black Sabbath, and I can really respect them for that. Also Geezer is such a legend, one of the best bass players in any band I’ve heard

Geezer STILL plays like he's in his twenties!!!!!
Now you realize why Black Sabbath is the best band in the land. 🤘
Hetfield used to sing this Sabbra Cadabra pretty well, 30+ years of concerts, tours around the world, party's and all kinds of excesses obviously affected his voice, and the fact he is not young anymore
god I can FEEL the bass!!! so fucking amazing seeing those two on the same stage! too bad i couldnt witness it live!

Definitely! Roger wrote most of the lyrics. He left and, to my mind, I don't think they had success with the other bassist. I mean he's good! Roger's bass playing is simple, but check out the way he keeps time. There are many bands that cover Pink Floyd, yet rarely do I hear a song rendered right.

The singing can never compare to Ozzy Osbourne. He just has a special voice
2 of my favourite sabbath tunes along with Megalomania.
No one can play someone else music and give it a special flavor like metallica!
Great tribute of METALLICA invite Geezer Butler to perform two of the hardest pieces of the famous album "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", this album a true classic of Heavy Metal, the first I bought from Sabbath when I was 17 years old, now I am over 60 and I continue to listen to them with great pleasure and pleasure the same as METALLICA. Greetings from Bogotá Colombia
Honestly, people saying "JAMES CAN'T SING IT" have probably never listened to Garage Inc.'s version of "Sabbra Cadabra", (or watched the 1998 live version) and don't understand that people's voices wear down :D

It's not fair when you compare Hetfield to Ozzy in his prime. Of course Hetfield can't sing it. Ozzy was untouchable in those days.
@j800r
5 жыл бұрын
You're giving Ozzy too much credit. The truth is simply that he COULD sing in those days. I think they're playing it in the original key here which is not James' natural key. That will be why he's struggling. I don't even think the Garage inc recording was in the original key.
@johnnybravo8605

They seem to play a number of tunes on Garage much faster than the originals, but I don't mind it at all. And ya know, I'm so used to hearing Metallica's version of "On the Road Again" that when I hear the original it sounds like it's in slow motion.
