Queen did such a masterful job writing a thrash song like 10 years pre thrash, that I have always assumed Metallica wrote it and Queen later covered it. It never even occurred to me that this could be a Queen original. Those dudes were so diverse. Writing a song that fits a band this different from them is a real accomplishment. They were and still are magic. So is Metallica. They had a rough patch on their St. Anger days, but I'm convinced they are great again. Long live Metallica and Queen.

You're spot on. Queen were diverse and versatile. They did a lot of different styles of music. That's why they're one of my top 3 favorite bands.

Queen invented thrash IMHO, and can pull off all sorts of genres! Listen to Stone Cold Crazy and the Crazy Little Thing Called Love and tell me you aren't impressed!

This cover introduced me to the original song way back in the day, and I still kind of prefer it. It's always been more of a Metallica song than a Queen song to me, despite Sheer Heart Attack later becoming my favorite Queen album after I realized they were more than the singles I had heard on the radio (and were in fact fucking incredible!).

This is one of my favorite songs on planet earth. I don't care who'd does it. Metallica took it and added there own kinda stank on it. James Hetfields voice makes the song in my opinion. But queen came up with this song. That's why queen will always one of the best!!!

Kirk is not better that Brian May, and vice versa as well. Their style of guitar is so much different. You may like one more than the other, but one isn't exactly better by any stretch. I personally like Brian May more, but Kirk is pretty badass when it comes to the shredding.

well. amongst fan of Queen (including all of metallica's members) they did have done a good job in this version and the garage inc ver. but goshdarned, why is metallica goes lazy and lazier with their cover over the years? even Queen did so with the recent Q+ adam's performance in bangkok! respectfully wanted to slap Guitar Queen and Siren Queen to plays it like that. >:(

I love both bands, but Roger has always been a far superior drummer than Lars. Lars, at least these days, all he does is double bass, which I find annoying. He's the most overrated drummer ever!

Lot of hate in the comments for Metallica and Lars in particular. What good does it do? I love 70s Queen with a passion, but I'm not going to shit on Metallica for covering it. It just shows that they love Queen too, and want to share that love with their fans. I respect that.

This is the first song i ever heard when i was 4. we had a giant cassette/radio/turntable stereo system one of them glass cabinets you know? some killer headphones to go with it. its no wonder i cant hear well because i used to just sit there head bang and blast this shit. Someone please explain to me why this isn't on some sort of Album? Fucking kick ass Version of my Favorite Queen song. I grew up listening to 2 bands when i was a kid.
