People say the crowd is dead... I was at the very very front and it was BOUNCING. There was 120k+ people dying in MEGA HEAT for nearly 9 hours before this 🤣 Not surprised a load were just vibing

That "Come on Dowload" he did in the start, it just proves that he still has his signature rasp and I can't for the love of God understand why he doesn't use it more... It sounds controlled and in his comfort zone, yet when the song starts he sings clean

Im sure when you get to be 60 and you screamed all your life for a living you cant do the same thing for 2h. Look at Maynard from Tool, Grohl from FF and so on. He is very well entitled to do whatever the fuck he wants with his voice. In fact, everytime he takes care of his body and lets his voice rest, (2000-2019) you can see his ups and downs

Saw them 4x during 80's in LA. Once festival Monsters of rock@ coliseum, same song, the floor was flying chairs everywhere! They had to stop until things settled down then resumed.🤘🏼

for the 60 years old musicians they are pretty good. also worth to mention like some guys here mentioned that they are money greed I dont think that they make concerts for the money,they have a lot of it concerts for them is for promoting new material and for fans

Yes, those were the days! When it was a one day event, loads more atmosphere and didn't cost over £400 for a ticket. I love Metallica but wouldn't go to this. (Don't miss the flying piss bottles though!🤣🤣)

Poor showing from the UK crowd there. Looks like it sold well but why is everyone just basically stood about. Found this in the larger general gigs too. The smaller local bands get more from crowds these days!

i was to both show in hamburg germany and crowd was dead on then first day and woke up only till the end when whiskey and sandman was played. but most people where over 30 and a lot of people had a long trip behind them to get there including traffic jams and shit. on 2nd day crowd was much more alive.

@@EvergreenCurve aye in fairness skindred always is a crowd pleaser. They have amazing interaction and get everyone bouncing. Helicopter this year I expect and all the jazz, just hearing the music for their intro gets people on a buzz.

What a way to start the set! They were pretty flawless the first night apart from Puppets, James’ guitar was having some issues and they couldn’t quite sort it out which was a shame. But a great set nonetheless!

Watching Metallica 1kilometer away and in plain sun light.... KILL !

Everytime I see a date written that way... 08/06/23... it throws me off. I was thinking this was August so I had to do a quick double take on it. Yes, I'm American and we write this date as 06/08/23 because we say it out loud as June 6, 2023. I'm assuming in other languages they say it out loud as 8th of June, 2023? Anyway, just though I'd throw that out there. Thanks for the vid!

But you are right with that thinking for a lot of other things and if you do in fact say it out loud as 8 of June 2023. I guess it's just the way I have always heard it and written it so seems correct to me

Crowd is dead because listen to them, they no longer project a raw/visceral sound. It's not bad but its not full of energy either, they know how to go through the motions, the worst part is their overall sound (guitars, drums). Put Gojira on that stage and watch the crowd, holy shit!

God thank god I saw Metallica in 95 here. This is an awful crowd. I seen more excitement at a Take That concert than these bunch of stiffs in the crowd. Where is the mosh pit, where is the jumping up and down. God concerts are so boring nowadays. Be easier banning mobile phones in the arena and you can buy the concert you have seen for £5.99. just enjoy the band's instead of being phone zombies

Unnecessary to who? Easy to keyboard warrior it up, they may not be the same as they were 30 years ago but then I bet you aren’t either, unless you’ve discovered the cure to aging. I’m always curious why people comment on something just to slag it off with a bland comment. Does it make you and others feel better? Is there a slight endorphin rush? Unnecessary to the song, to me and to millions of other people like me who used to worship this band man. Call me what you want, I'm just stating facts here. 1. I used to worship this band (they were t h e s h i t back in the day. 2. I don't feel the same now as I did then. 3. Correction: Song starts at 3:52. First (teeny-weeny-tiny) unnecessary drum fill is at 4:26, but it's very subtle, and you might not hear it. The second unnecessary drum fill in the song comes at 4:37 - 85 seconds into the set. You might find it upsetting that I'm stating these facts, and that is your right.

I don’t find it upsetting and I appreciate a solid response. Where I can’t get onboard though is that these are “facts”; music is subjective, in your opinion they are unnecessary. But to state is as fact means you’re discounting everyone’s opinion who may disagree. For example I like the more fill heavy side, keeps it interesting and not to “stock” ;) plus to be fair to him he’s been playing these songs for 30+ years, he’s kinda earned the right to do what he wants with them. Again, solid response man, cool discourse.

Went to Donnington 84...ac/dc..ozzy,van halen...accept...motley crue...no phones and 1000 times better than this....saw Metallica in the top hat dun laoghaire 1988....tiny venue 10 minutes from my local pup and house....gea times
