‘The thing that should not be’ sounds absolutely epic in this concert....they all do, granted, but that one in my opinion is truly epic! They take the original heavy ness to another level. And the orchestra adds to it dramatically 🤟 Anyhoo, keep up the good work, and I wish you a very merry Christmas and new year from over the pond. Peace!

Don’t mind those “fans” that are unable to see any kind of change and immediately reject it. I think that #1 albums in a row speak lots to the appeal of their music. But again, music is subjective. I think their first 5 are masterpieces from top to bottom, and the next have lots of awesome songs and some not as epic, but it doesn’t mean is. It worth listening. Everyone has their opinions, and that’s the way is going to be. I still enjoy all of their discography.

MetallicA was one of many bands that did a symphony type album, but NO OTHER band could come close to the magic MetallicA made with this one. And Vin is correct about how MetallicA evolved the best of any other bands, and that is why I have loved MetallicA since the day I started listening to them when I was 8, I'm 40 now and I still love this band, thanks for reacting to this one.

I was into SAVATAGE and to some extent NIGHTWISH when they were developing the Symphonic Sound. I was at this show in Berkeley with a friend of mine. The deep emotions flowing through the audience as these songs came together with the orchestra was incredible. It could have set a record for Goosebumps if the fans stood still long enough to be counted... this song being heard for the first time that night had hardcore METALLICA fans (like my friend) sobbing. Thank you for the Review. It brought me back, bigtime.

Nice to see you open your mind man. Just because it wasn’t a thrash metal album doesn’t mean it’s bad. If you appreciate music in general then you won’t follow the crowd. Talent is talent. Hopefully those who didn’t like some of their ‘90’s music will go back and re-evaluate now that they have grown up.

After seattle 89, this is for me their greatest live performance. Kirk solos are on point, James sounds amazing. This is the first time he went to vocal lessons for this show. Scene everything sounds and looks so good!! Outlaw Thorn from same concert next please.Remembering this is the first live concert dvd i bought back in 1999.

Bro, I love your reflection of how the lyrics got into you. You mostly don't expect that a metal rock band can be so deep and insightful about things are in life. The evolution of Metallica is represented here and its a true masterpiece of their impressive career. Only suitable for enriched ears. Great job.

God damnit S&M is good. I firmly believe this era was when Metallica were at their creative peak and when they were performing at their best. The old stuff is obviously great, the new stuff is good, and the band still puts on a fantastic show, but the Load/ReLoad/S&M era in the mid to late 90's was when they seemed to be most at home with their sound and sorry Rob, you rock, but Jason brought something to the stage that you just can't. Hands down the best live album of all time.

The idea that a rock band performs live with a complete orchestra is a bold and creative one. The S&M album gets much hate from many fans, but it is a very good one. The Call of Ktulu version from S&M is not less epic than the RTL version, I strongly recommend you react to it. This one got won a grammy award back then.

S&M is one of my favs all time. Michael Kamen (who sadly died a couple of years later) arranged that beautifully. the orchestra gives the music some extra emotion, makes it even more powerful. thank god Metallica arent afraid of experimenting and trying out new stuff, otherwise this epic epic concert wouldve never happened. great reviews, keep it up. greetings from germany
