@Ivan I know because he scheduled a world tournament to celebrate his retirement, he had plans to stay with his family, unfortunately, he attended a few concerts, the original plan was 40 music live representation, but he interrupted as find out his illness.

Kudos to the person who requested this. Definitely one of the most beautiful duets of all time. Hadn’t heard this song in many years. Fantastic!

Eh si ! Questa è l’Italia ! E specialmente per chi sta all’estero come me, ci rende orgogliosi di essere italiani. L’Italia con la sua cultura, la sua arte e i suoi artisti in ogni settore, ammirata e amata in tutto il mondo.

Pavarotti quando era in vita faceva ogni anno uno spettacolo che si chiamava " Pavarotti and Friends" al quale invitava tanti amici della musica pop e dove duettava con loro ogni volta erano brividi infiniti ... Prova a guardare qualcosa 💋

It is an emotional performance. I think it must be the last one Pavarotti and Zucchero singing together. On this day Pavarotti was in pain and felt sick but he did it for his friend Zucchero (it was reported in a documentary or an interview). Zucchero was every year guest at the concert serie "Pavarotti & friends" between 1992 and 2003. So they sang several times together.

I've watched this maybe...2000 times, over the years, and it touches my soul every single time...deeply. And I'm mostly a Rush fan. Zucchero reminds me of an Italian Joe Cocker.

"Miserere" is not an italian word. It is latin and once it was frequently pronounced during the Holly Mass, when it was still in latin. "Miserere" is not perfectly translatable. An attept: "(please, God) be pitiful/merciful (with me)". There is also a live performance starring Bono & Pavarotti.

So... many don't know it although Pavarotti said this in a couple of interviews.... Zucchero wrote this song recorded a demo a sent it to Big Luciano (that's one of Pavarotti's nicknames abroad) asking him for his feat. Pavarotti after listening to the recording said "you don't need me, you already have an amazing tenor, the guy who sang this". Eventually Pavarotti ended up featuring on Zucchero's album, the young tenor who had recorded Miserere demo version was a totally unknown at the time Andrea Bocelli which I believe feat. for Miserere on Zucchero's live tour that year.

I couldn't wait for this reaction and i didn't even request it!!

Non fu zucchero. È stato Michele Torpedine a portare la registrazione da Pavarotti che stava in America in quelle settimane, zucchero non prendeva quasi mai aerei. Michele Torpedine invece ha scoperto e lanciato Bocelli con tutto sé stesso. Zucchero didn't discover Bocelli, Michele Torpedine did. Mr Torpedine then Managed Bocelli for 17 years and together they reached the highest peaks!
