@@ivanpretto5220We were talking about masterpieces. Songs brought to everyone's attention because they ended up in the jukeboxes of the time. For example, I remember "Regina al Troubadour", "Concerto Grosso n.2" and "Non mi rompete". But the masterpieces remain "Impressioni di settembre" and "Amico di ieri" even because they were played on every guitar at that time.

Mad Ang, you have now entered a dangerous field. These Italian progressive rock groups are made up of musicians with 6 to 10 years of classical studies at music conservatories (Italian exclusive music schools where it's hard to get in and where you learn music sight-reading, an instrument and composition). By classical studies I mean stuff like Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Vivaldi, Paganini, Verdi, Puccini, etc. Now the conservatories also have classes in Jazz, contemporary and popular music. Groups such as PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi), New Trolls, Orme, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Area, to name just the most famous, are part of this family of musicians. Listening to their music and watching them play, you immediately understand the difference in technique and skill between them and those who are in the charts today.

This memory comes directly from the voice of Franz Di Cioccio, on the consideration and esteem he received from people of the caliber of Led Zeppelin: he stated"...It went like this: while we were on tour, many years ago, an article came out in an English newspaper that spoke very well of me, where my style was approached to that of John Bonham: whoever wrote it found similarities especially in the use of case, although I see in me a sort of more 'Latin' Bonham. The fact is that one night Armando Gallo calls me from Los Angeles [journalist and photographer who in '74 served as the press office at PFM for the first tour in the USA] telling me that Led Zeppelin had asked him about me. Let me be clear, there was no audition. I've never met Led Zeppelin: I know that there are different versions of this story, but that's how it went. I don't even remember if Bonham was still alive or not. I think they just wanted to make sure they could track me down. I was very happy, for me it was a great satisfaction, but it is clear that I had my band, I was not interested in embarking on other projects"

English translation How many dew drops surround meI search for the sun, but it’s not here the countryside still slumbers, maybe not, It’s awake, it watches me, I don’t know. Already the smell of earth, the smell of wheat rise up towards me and the life in my chest beats slowly, I breathe the mist, thinking of you. How green everything is around me, even further looking almost like a sea of grass and my thoughts lightly fly away…I’m almost afraid to loose it… A horse stretches his neck towards the pasture He stands still, like me I take a step, he sees me, already runs away I breathe the mist, thinking of you No, what I now am, I do not know I am a man, a man in search of himself No, what I now am, I do not know I am alone, just the sound of my step; and meanwhile the sun filtering through the fog already the day as always will be.

The studio version is amazing as well. Also, listen to "E' festa" by them. Another thing I would suggest to listen to is "Concerto Grosso" by New Trolls. I am going to give you the names of other Italian progressive rock bands from the '70s which, in my opinion, are worth listening to: Le Orme, Osanna, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Area, Goblin (especially Profondo Rosso, which is the main theme of the horror film of the same name). Your reactions are the best, and I believe it is great that you are open to experiencing music from other countries. Kudos to you! 🤍

This channel it's so nice! These songs are so familiar to us, and it's so nice to hear someone that is not Italian and even though can appreciate and have some fun. Tanks dude, I really appreciate that. Except for the verbs, Italian is not too difficult (is like Spanish), it's a pity that you can find all the lyrics. If you would like to visit our country I would be happy. Have a nice day!

you should try the version of Patti Smith with the italian band MArlene Kuntz. PFM entered the US charts twice with their english language albums in the seventies. We also have to say that in present times they are not influential and stopped selling records many years ago. They only make concerts.

During PFM's U.S. tour one night they were invited to open a concert of a famous singer (can't remember the name), and the stadium was full. The local press at the end of the performance interviewed some fans of the famous singer asking what they thought of the concert, and they replied that they were fantastic and had never heard such beautiful music, so different and full of new sounds and masterfully played. Whereupon puzzled the reporter asked "but are we talking about (the name of the singer I can't remember)" "Who, the one who closed the PFM concert? Ah, I don't know, we immediately left after PFM's performance ended and came here to have a beer and discuss what we had just heard." (from the web on anecdotes from PFM's U.S. tour)
