La scrittura dei testi di Vasco, in particolare nella sua fase cantautorale, è molto particolare e dubito che un non madrelingua possa coglierne le sfumature. Scrivere testi in italiano per le canzoni pop e rock non è cosa banale perché la nostra è una lingua carente di parole tronche e questo rende tutto più complicato, se non si vuole scadere nell'ingenuità dei testi dei gruppi beat, che troncavano i verbi per creare le rime (andar, cantar, suonar, gli Skiantos ci avevano ironizzato parecchio). Allo stesso modo quindi è complicato per un non madrelingua comprendere le costruzioni dei testi dei cantautori nostrani più acclamati. Pensate a come cantava in salita De André nella Canzone dell'amore perduto "E sarà la prima che incontri per strada / che tu coprirai d'oro per un bacio mai dato / per un amore nuovo." Parlava d'amore mercenario, ma che fatica!

Non sono d'accordo. Io non lo amo, perché il genere musicale che amo e tutt'altro, ma se capita lo ascolto volentieri. Quindi nemmeno lo odio. A mia moglie piaceva da ragazza, quindi l'avrò accompagnata almeno a una decina di concerti. Mi sono sempre divertito, ma finisce lì. Però mica siamo tutti come i fan di Ligabue. Un madrelingua non si limita a comprendere le singole parole, ma anche le pause, i sospiri, il modo in cui vengono pronunciate. Pensa a quando canta con voce da ragazza "Domani sì, adesso [pausa] no-o". Un non madrelingua non potrà mai coglierne il significato (che aveva avuto su di lui adolescente).
