This to me is the greatest live performance by a guitarist, the never missed a note.

Brother you got it right. Pantera loved their fans like they were best friends. I met Dimebag Darrell backstage and he was literally there for 6 hours talking to everyone who wanted to meet him. It was daylight when he finally took off to the hotel. But he made dam sure that every single person there got a chance to talk to him and get a autograph. I did a shot with Dime and Vinny, and they were two of the most down to earth guys you could ever want to meet. They weren't about the money, they were about the love of music and the connection with the fans! Rest in peace Dimebag Darrell Lance Abbott and Vinny Paul Abbott.

That breakdown is so heavy it created a black hole.

I have watched many, *MANY* reactions to this, and only once did I see someone *NOT* headbang.... I immediately reported the reaction for crimes against Humanity, and considered them Aliens from some other world.

These are my brothers and I love and miss them so much. Back in the day it was rare to see a black man at a metal concert. Now days when I see the mix of the crowd it makes me very happy, just like when i go to a Rap or any other concert and I may be one of the few white guys there but we are all vibbin' together, it just shows don't buy into the stereotypes and listen to EVERYTHING. Enrich your world and allow the music to take you places you haven't been before. Peace and love to you Lex!

That's why I love the punk scene! Especially the 2-tone ska!! Check out "the SPECIALS" they're the ones that SMASHED the wall down! Just read a quote from Einstein! "Its amazing! We have the power and understanding to take smash and take apart an atom!.... but we cannot smash prejudice" With the (well my country, US) way the country has been in the past few years! Its broken my soul to go from such HIGHS! (I cried watching Obama's 2nd inauguration and literally said aloud to myself "were winning! The old dinosaurs are dying off! Theres finally a change!) The the lowest lows of seeing the racism and slurs come out from people whom I used to respect. We basically got a Orange David Duke facist in there. To always have the SPECIALS tango and listen to! Theres still a spot in the sun and the world for all of us whom HATE the HATERS of sex, race or sexual orientation. As long as the fire is in our hearts!!! Pantera and Slayer gained their fan base through awesome live performances and constant touring that being said I love both bands, they always gave their best to the fans and we loved them for it

Not a trance, a huge group of shared love and respect. Was fortunate enough to see them live 7 times. Even more fortunate to meet and hang with them 4 of those times.

You stopped it right before dimebag did his bottle rocket tremelo move!!!! Remember, this was LIVE! No screwups, never missed a beat!!!! I will guarantee you that metallica didn't want to even go out on stage after that! RIP Dimebag Darrel (guitar) and his brother on drums, Vinnie Paul!

Yeah, it's so obvious, how Vinnie & Darrell interact - feed off each other... Like they have been playing together since childhood - Dime is an elite guitarist, and, Vinnie ain't no slouch on the drums.... He may be the hardest hitter since Bill Ward of Black Sabbath, or the 'late' legend John Bonham of Led Zep. Vinnie beats them like they owe him money. He wears leather gloves for grip, and plays with inverted sticks. . Monster

Best single live performance ever for me, personally...how can this not make you just wanna wreck everything in sight? I did for about 20 years...my house, my neck, my endocrine system....I feel like shit everyday now in my 40s because Pamtera was the soundtrack to my youth. I would pound a couple bottles of liquor while listening to metal, and end up going nuts and running my head through a wall or refrigerator or whatever was around haha. Good times!

Hmmm. I almost missed this one. Phil does get cracked in the head with guitars and microphones and various other things and keeps on performing. He does it to himself sometimes, for inspiration. There's footage of him getting whacked by a guitar atop his head with his other, other band Down and finishing the song with blood running all over his face and shirt.

Ok I was born and raised just north of Arlington, Texas( a suburb of Dallas) where Pantera is from. I was in the military, stationed at Ft Lewis, WA. I took a black and Hispanic member of my Ranger platoon to a Pantera show up in Seattle, in 1993. They were both a little iffy on being at a metal concert. They had ever heard Pantera before that. I purposely made sure that they didn’t play any of their music around them. I wanted to see a pure reaction to seeing them live! They were blown away, and ended up in the mosh pit, by the middle of the show! They might merch and later all the music in the catalog at that time. For maybe three years, all you heard was Pantera rocking all through the Company barracks and in everyone’s trucks and cars. You’re welcome, boys, was all I could say! I even got everyone drinking Jack And Jimmy and dipping Copenhagen. I still have my Texas State Flag signed by every guy in that company, and even the Battalion Chaplain! About 95% of them either signed it with “Cowboys From Hell” or “WWPD” (What Would Pantera Do). 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

His is Darrell Lance Abbot. He was an amazing dude. He was legendary before he was murdered. He didn't have beef with anyone, didn't overdose, or kill himself. He was just the best metal guitarist and so down to earth.

Whelp, Pantera went on at 1300. When my Brothers in Arms and I went to Moscow, we had to get a briefing from our G2 (Intel) on what was going on. We took 10 days of leave, went there, and had a fuckin great time. The Russian kids that were there were cool as all hell. We stayed at a shitty hotel that had rooms like prison cells. Ah, good times man. God bless the Army for giving me the opportunity to see Pantera live in Moscow. And Pantera, what you saw on their videos? They weren't kidding, man. Thos fuckin commie conscripts with the rubber Rodney sticks took full swings on kids in the pit, man! It really upset us. We went into the pit by the sound board. Fuckin commie conscripts tried to swing on us. No no no..."We're Americans, fuckstick! Lay the fuck off! You hit me with that shit? We're about to have an international incident motherfucker!" my brother from the South Dakota rez told them in perfect Russian. Their eyes got real big and they laid back and let us have our fun. Fuckers! For that whole festival? Shit, from hanging out with Russian metalheads after the show? Holy shit! All I can say is this. Music brought us together. Two people from two different countries, totally different ideologies, yet found Brotherhood through music. Our species sucks, man! Signed, A Veteran

An awesome display of Crowd control in a live concert that'll probably blow your mind, is Spit it out at The Download Festival by Slipknot. Not sure of the year though. Any concert where they play that song will blow your mind. But try and find the one Joey (R.I.P) is revolving on his drum kit sitting vertically while rotating! Very cool!

You dont get much better than that.

my favorite thing is on the album version you can hear Vinnie the drummer yell "farts stink like a m'fer"
