I can see how much you love Dimash, you want to tell everything about him in one breath 😄 But let me correct you a little. Dimash does not have a degree in opera, but in jazz and contemporary music (pop). He started singing bel canto (classical music - not opera) with Marat, when he was 15. Dennis Ten's tribute was in Nur Sultan, his Arnau concert in 2019. Maybe you are referring to what happened in London when he sang SOS ? It was a very emotional moment (I was there) as it had only been a couple of months since Dennis had been murdered 😢

The song you asked about is "War and Peace." Dimash wrote the music, and it's included the album he released in China. The lyrics are in Chinese. You should definitely react to it; you'll love it. I recommend you watch the version on his channel from his Digital Show because it has English subtitles. His Digital Show was amazing, and all the songs are on his channel in their own playlist. It was a concert he filmed live during the COVID shutdown era, therefore there is no audience. Tickets were sold online at a very reasonable price, for charity, and we all watched it as it aired. He also performed the song during his concert in Kiev, which was obviously before the Russian invasion. That performance is amazing too, and sadly so prophetic, but make sure to watch one with English subtitles as someone referred you to below.

Dimash gave an amazing speech at an Asian Peace Conference. After his speech, they showed all the heads of Asian countries his 'Under One Sky' Music Video, I believe.

The song was War and Peace, a work composed as part of his master's degree. His speech on the ethics of peace as part of the Central Asian Media Forum was brilliant as well. It's on his channel with subtitles hardcoded in.

This speech in Dubai was a Big surprice. And We all was absolutly stunned with the powerful message ♥️ That concert was amazing 🥰

Dimash says he is just a singer. He is an excellent pianist, but he says that he is not a piano man, a great dombra player and he also says that he is not a dombrist. He plays the drums very well but he says he is not a drummer. He has been arranging music since he was a child and says he's not an arranger either. So I could continue more and more. Dimash has complete musical academic training and is about to obtain his PhD. Many great musicians and arrangers from various countries have worked with him, but one thing is certain, in all the arrangements of the songs that Dimash has sung, his hand, his mind, his skills ang his crativity is in it. He is a perfectionist and nothing he sings can fail his taste or not meet his approval.

To understand the value that Dimash places on freedom, you must know that it is a very young country (33 years independent) and with a sinister past of abuses by the Former Soviet Union. In 1991, a coup attempt in Moscow was aborted and then the dissolution of the Soviet Union occurred, Kazakhstan declared its independence on December 16, 1991. It was the last of the Soviet republics to declare independence.

John, Dimash has said that he makes the structure of each song and composes certain lines or parts (or as it is called in parlance musical) and then his arranger (Erlan Bechurin) makes the song "exactly" how Dimash wants. By the way, Alan Badoev, who said Dimash "has a child-like personality" was the director of the MV of the song The Love of Tired Swams. You asked who directed it in your reaction of this song. He's ukranian and also directed the MV of the song Know, wich is also beautiful and artistic. You'll love it.

When he talked about war and peace in the middle of his concert it was just after thr Russia/Ukraine war broke out. He was devastated as he had Russian and Ukrainian people on his team. They were difficult times for him as passion was running high in everyone around him and team members were falling out. He even had to let his Ukrainian stage manager go because of it. Dimash has not worked in Russia since the invasion and he also had to stop working with Igor, whom he is great friends with. I love these guides too, they're so well done ❤🙏

Dimash’s public stance against war has caused issues, to the extent of death threats . The speech that was made during a concert was shortly after the start of the war in Ukraine, a concert in Belarus was cancelled, for obvious reasons, but at the following concerts he gave that speech and performed the song War and Peace, that he composed, the lyrics are in Mandarin, ironically the live concert version found on KZread is from the Kiev Ukraine concert of 2019, I believe. War and Peace from the Digital Concert is amazing as well. He said that he discouraged Dimash to sing in his falsetto until his vocal technique was well established so that he wouldn't hurt his chords. His technique wasn't sound enough yet when he started with him, so he needed to train in his tenor voice. Crawl before you walk, before you sprint. It's as simple as that. Due to this short clip, many people have misinterpreted what Marat's motivation really was. We shouldn't be so hasty to jump to conclusions and judge people. He is after all the man whom Dimash credits as being the teacher who taught him all he knows about singing
