Till Lindemann is a qualified pyrotechnician, that's how Rammstein can get away with all of their pyrotechnics! I also read somewhere that those wings weigh around 100 pounds. Just imagine singing and performing on stage with 100 pounds of weight strapped on you. Till Lindemann, the lead singer is just a total beast. Also, I had the pleasure of seeing them live back in September of 2022, here in NJ at MetLife stadium and all of their songs are phenomenal live!

These days he does not wear the wings when performing Engel, it was indeed extremely painful to carry, 50 kilo's I think and you can imagine such weight pulling at you, contracting your chest/lungs and then try to sing.

In the army we had to do a 40-45 kilometer march with 45kg (100lbs) gear, plus 10kg anti-tank mines which we rotated to different people. Less than half of us made it, me not included. I got about halfway. We leftovers were picked up with a van later along the route :D

A bit of physics for everyone, torque ("rotational force") you would feel from something like this is the mass multiplied by the moment or torque, or roughly the "middle point" between where you are holding something and the distribution of mass. With a backpack, that moment of torque is going to be just slightly behind your back, so let's call that "one" for the sake of simple math. With these wings it will be the centre of gravity of the wings, where they can balance. Probably about a metre behind Till. For simplicity, lets call this a "ten" when compared to our first point. Point being, his walking with 50kg wings behind him places the same kind of stress against him as walking with a 500kg backpack. It would get better when the wings are extended (though that would place strain on core muscle to stabilize), but there are HUGELY good reasons why he appears hunched over when he comes up onto stage!

Flake (the Keyboarder) is such an great entertainer. I love him!

Google translate is a thing - not hard to use. Most fans knows the lyrics - a very important part of Ramstein.

Truly said.. they are so loved by people across the globe that everyone starts singing along even when German is not the crowds language. Also I've seen a comment on a video that regardless of the history with Germany, people across the world are die hard fans of Rammstein. 🤩

I have traveled so many times to see them, please, do yourself a favour and treat yourself to seeing them live. The energy is electric, and the vibe is stellar from the band and the audience. Ich mag Rammstein!

Know the feeling when there is pyro, where you feel the heat on your face almost to the extent that it's too much? At a Rammstein concert you'll get that feeling 150-200 feet away from the stage

Saw them in Texas last year it was worth every penny. Got to meet Till, he's a year younger than me he's 60 this year. The concert was literally FIRE 🔥. Great reaction awesome song.

Its so weird for me, as a german, to see how much they are loved in the world, since I remeber them since I was a child. I grew up near Berlin. So for me it was always a good, but just a german band. I will never realize their imternational success 😅

I just watched the making of the Ich Tu Dir Weh video, the song where Flake gets tossed in the bathtub on stage. Most people think that he gets hidden off stage somehow, but no, he’s in the tub the entire time! Till had a bathtub welded…at least, Paul said that it was welded to Till’s specifications…with a box for Flake to tuck himself into so the sparks/liquid metal wouldn’t hit him. (Though one of the crew members in the video said that it would still be a thoroughly painful stunt if it wasn’t done right, and Flake said that Till watches to make sure that nothing happens to him.)

Flake and Till are good friends and that is why Flake trusts him 100% and Till has a look that no one gets hurt. Amazing what Till is "pulling off" not only on stage, isn't it? Also the wings here are his idea. For all how to make them. And well, only people who do not follow them too long, or only listen to their music, but nothing else do not know that, but I am glad, that there are still some, who are educating themselves, by watching those videos and do not make some stuff up, like so many others today.

Went to see them in Boston the past year and enjoyed them so much, went to see them again in Los Angeles. And pervious years, just glorious performances. Check out their music videos too.

i have been to hundreds of concerts, all heavy metal but the best concerts in the world are absolutely Rammstein. this year i was in Nijmegen the Netherlands, (i am dutch). and it was awesome, and the best thing, i was up front in the fire zone. if you get the chance go.... ps i am 60 years old, and this music never gets old.

I would suggest watching Fruer Frei or Mein Teil you will love the pyro

The bass guitar player (Oliver Riedel) is so cool here. If you imagine that this 2m tall man always manages to stay modestly in the background. Was at the Minneapolis show. They did the piano version as a sing along. Damn that hit everyone hard.

Sorry, but what is "controversial" in "Deutschland". Can there somebody not deal with the history of it? Because this is all, what it is about. The history of Germany with its extremes through the second World War and the time of the communist-part. Also some oder history-stuff. Only a bit more extreme shown, but actually with burning witches and so on, it was very violent. Also that the Germans did not do too much against it. I am not from Germany, I am Austrian. My grandparents did not bound to the regime and got a visit by the SS. Only people, who do not want to see the truth about their history find it controversial. I can see nothing of it in there, only the brutal truth of history.

Apparently those wings are 70kg, hes still doing this and i think hes 60. Ive seen Rammstein live before and the experience was amaaaazing. Definitely go if you get the chance!

I've known Rammstein since 1995 and saw them live at a festival in 1998. The pyrotechnics didn't work properly and Til Lindemann left the stage pissed off. But until then it was a very impressive performance.

If you go to a concert you need to be a front. The fire zone tickets. I heard it is really hot in that area

The wings are 110lbs. Flake lorenz the Keyboarder has an amazing museum of really old cars, like 80-100 years old. Some you can see in Rammstein videos like Deutschland. He is very passionate about that. And he loves animals and has some shelters for animals and stray dogs. Also he has some foundations to help children from every background to get in touch with music and instruments. He is visitng schools and so on in the Berlin area but also in foreign schools abroad.

I wish I could attend one of their concerts, they performed at the Big Day Out in 2011 in Australia and that's the only time they have been there. If you want to watch one of their Music videos Duetschland is a good one. Very cinematic. My music taste is electic, liking Rammstein to BTS.

I thought it was 2001 Big Day Out?? They came to Perth in 2014 (Soundwave?) but I didn’t know & I’m soooo upset I missed them here. 😡🤬 They’re not likely to come back to Oz so I’m hoping to go to wherever they’d gonna be touring next…

C'mon, they have touring year's and played some 30 years at least almost (could be more), and now Jenk's start to discover them. I haven't seen their show on live, so hard to tell how many time's it's fantastic for real, than I can imagine. But I listening music a lot, know a lot of these guy's, what they have told from themselves etc. They will come after few year back to Finland, that sex thing will disappear, even someone thinks what, in this point. It was just told for peoples who have no better doing. Other way they would use lawyers or some better ways. And there's happening a lot thing's around them, they are not murder's, not some pope or breaking law's. Whole thing be collapsed 20y ago, if they cannot handle things right places. And they give millions and millions of things that makes people's life's better in hard time's and situations. Remember this is same time 'just' big show and consert, but their life, job and thing what they want to share other peoples. Price of ticket moves money around and not expensive for one time in life show. There's just one group called Rammstein. Like there's just one HIM and one real Metallica and so on.. Enjoy that how peoples make the artwork's to give life more brightness

Here in Germany, we have whole books of poetry by Till Lindemann sold at bookstores. The poetry is... well, it's what you can't make a hit song of. Just read the lyrics of "Tier" (Beast), multiply and square. Flake, the keyboard man, is basically what Lars Ulrich is to Metallica. He is the only one with a proper college education, and they say all the rest of the band is scared of him. Never been to their concerts, unfortunately, being more a museum man by nature.

???? and what would this be? As I know is he a trained tool-maker. In the GDR the most had something called "Lehre". Till himself is a carpenter. Is that not good enough for you? Flake also wrote, that Till could fix a lot of things. Even in his father's book, the father described what he was able to do, for example building a rocked chair. Not good enough, or what? IT WAS THE GDR, A DiFFERENT WORLD. One of my grandfathers came from the former USSR. For the mit was normal to do stuff with their hands and that only some could study. Flake would never say, that he is better than the rest of the members. Sometimes I really do not know, where you guys have your informations from. I have at least two books from Till and I love them. I am a woman and do not get offended, only by people who are making up stuff. So which "better education" does Flake have, who was in the Band of Feeling B by the age of 16. Have known how to make tools and did also some jewellery, which they sold on their concert days. I am listen to them since 1997 and even I do not know all, but sometimes I truly wonder, that someone might make up a story and some share it, without really checking it. By the way, at this book, there are also a few very beautiful ones and at the newest one even a funny short story. Those informations are from hearing saying? Just tell me, which other education I missed. So only college people are good enough for you? Well, I hope you never need one of the other idiots and if, they should not come and you should fix the running toilet or what ever it is, you might not know on your own, then I hope you appreciate "not college people" more.

I was born in ussr when it was still a thing, have a degree from Max Planck University for math, and the person I loved the most after my wife and mom was my grand-granny who had but two years of school ed. I worked at a pig stall, and work for industry. Oh, and by the way, I've had whatever it is with my kitchen sink the other day, and repaired it with my own hands. Because guess what? Having a degree doesn't mean a person needs to shun physical work and physical workers. The fact that you feel offended tells more about you than of me. Hope you have a great evening.

I also give a sh.... about any title, because so long people with title think, they are more worth than others without (which comes here really through) so long I am not interested in such people and I also lost my respect for people who needs to tell the whole world about their degree, wife and so on. With all this, I still do not know, in which College Flake went. You only would had to answer this, instead I got a story of your life. Must be very sad, when you have to answer like you just did Mr. Max Planck Institut, I do not give a sh.... about it. Enjoy your evening, because I do not give Narcissists and "Wichtigtuer" more attention then what you just got.
