I love the wild abandon with which Avu-chan goes up and down between the highs and lows of their voice. One of my favourite vocalists! 🤩

If you've not seen the official MV, Avu-chan uses essentially the same facial expressions and in the context they're very much an idol being consumed by their role.

That was insane... I think Oshi no ko op is great, but the ed is amazing. This song is underrated. Avu-chan ( that's how the vocalist is known, Queen Bee is the name of the band) She is great, her voice is so unique. I recommend you to check the first take version of "Fire" and "BL". Just great. Queen Bee is band's name, vocalist is Avu-chan and there was also their guitarist Hibari-kun. On their official KZread channel is live performance of "Mephisto" if you're interested. ;) About amazing singers, vocal ranges and performamces, can you react to japanese artist Kokia and her song "Gematria" live from Layers ~Lights and Shadows~ 2016? This song is inspired on buddhist mantras and lyrics are in not existing language (more correctly it's mix of few languages like japanese, french, english, latin etc), because like she said, emotions are the same in every language. :) Gematria is practice of assigning numerical value to name, word or phrase by reading it as number. Kokia is multi genre artist, like folk, pop, classical crossover (she is classically and operatically trained), but she also composing music to anime and video games, most of her songs are in japanese, but she also can sing in english, italian, french, latin, irish, chinese etc. I hope you will react to her. :)

If you really like Queen Bee and Avu-chan's vocals in general please please please do yourself a favor and watch the animated movie Inu-oh. It is full of their amazing vocals, great music, and beautiful visuals, great story. quick summary for folks that want to check it out: Inu-Oh is born with unique physical characteristics, and the horrified adults cover his face with a mask. One day, he meets a boy named Tomona, a biwa player, and as Tomona plays a delicate song, Inu-Oh discovers an incredible ability to dance. And is based on true events from 14th century Japanese history but reimagined as a fantasy/rock opera.

I cry every single time I see this performance. Avu-chan is one of THE GREATEST vocalists of our generation and their vocal control is absolutely UNREAL ❤

For more Avu-chan on the First Take, there's "Fire" and "BL". In particular, "Fire" was the opening for "Dororo" and is one of my favorite Queen Bee songs. In more recent work, I have a soft spot for "Mysterious" which has a jazzy instrumental (also the opening of "Raven of the Inner Palace"). There's also "Violence" which has more of a dance vibe but with rock guitar? (Also "Chainsaw Man" closing ep 11)

Off Topic: Tank! and The Real Folk Blues (from Cowboy Bebop) are still the summit of OP/EDs. Idol/Mephisto is waaaaaaaaaay up there and I'd be willing to put them on my Mt Rushmore of OP/ED greatness. I don't think there's been a pair since Tank!/Real Folk Blues that have been this level of great. Now, on topic: HOLY CATS DID AVU-CHAN KILL IT! I did not expect a stripped down, acoustic version of Mephisto when I watched in on the First Take. I was completely blown away and yeah, I got emotional there at the last break.
