For those of you who dig bootlegs, what are some that YOU have and enjoy? And what are your favorite sources for picking up these types of records? Let me know all of that, and anything else that makes sense, in the comments below.

I was at the MOR here in Brazil in 1994. The Divine intervention album hadn't been released yet, and here Mind Control was played as a "new song". I remember the double bass drum work blew my mind away. Great day it was. I dig boots, vinyl and your channel too

I don’t have many boots the ones that I have don’t sound great but the packaging is usually pretty cool!

Another great video, Matt! I’m not a huge fan of bootlegs, but do own a couple. Local shop, The Attic, has a bunch. I got the Zero Demos VH recently and it is amazing. Better than expected. I always see an interesting boot I’d like to check out and then find 10 other releases I invest in for obvious reasons. Thanks for the post!! Great stuff

Honestly I have so many albums I want to buy that bootlegs are a long way off (rebuilding my collection is a bitch) however I definitely want that Van Halen one you showed, same with the Slayer one (not surprised about the bass being low in the mix since he basically only plays root notes) I like the fact that you are playing clips, very helpful. I heard that Glenn Tipton joined the band on Saturday in Oakland, very cool. I couldn't make out your shirt on my smartphone but I'm sure it's awesome

I miss the days of visiting the metro Detroit record stores and searching through vinyl and CD bootlegs. I'm a sucker for Metallica vinyl bootlegs. I still regret that the copy of "...And Live For All" from Gothenburg, Sweeden that I purchased had a skip and was returned to the store. I wish I had held on to it. :(

I have both the NWoBHM at the BB volumes and really like them. I can also recommend the Maida Vale 'British Hard & Heavy Rock At The BBC' double LP, quality is even better than the NWoBHM. Both the Psychedelic and Progressive albums are fine too quality wise, just musically not my cup of tea. They are 100% bootlegs though, but as you mentioned hard to tell due to the high quality all round. "Maida Vale" was actually the name of studio that the BBC used to record the radio shows, including the Friday Rock show, so the name of the label is a nice nod to that glorious period.

The moment you showed off that Motorhead - Tales of Glory LP, I went straight onto Discogs and ordered a copy. Now I'm going to have to find the rest of these NWOBHM boots

I believe that Motorhead got an official release but only on CD from King Biscuit Flower Hour back in the 1990's

The only boot I have on vinyl (so far) is Metallica at Rock Am Ring in 1999. For some reason, it's a two volume set, so I've gotta track down the second volume. Surprisingly, I bought the record at Guitar Center. I have other boots, but they're on CD (I know, sinful considering this is a vinyl channel!). Also Metallica, and largely from around the Puppets era.

I was an avid listener to The Friday Rock Show, and used to record it each week (cassette) and choose the tracks I wanted to keep. It's how I heard about Venom, Slayer, Bathory et al... I may try an episode of MBR in the same vein, as a tribute. I loved Tommy Vance. "T.V. on the radio!!"
