This was an amazing boss fight. You can really feel it at the end when you have to shoot her. MGS3 has the best ending of all MGS games so far, but the Big Boss part at the end of MGS4 is close.

When the boss gave you 5 minutes and this song suddenly came... Man, this gives me chills right down my spine!

1:45 I don't why but that part always makes me feel sad when fighting The Boss. It always reminded me that she's actually the good guy and this is a tragedy of a story.

That's the idea, like the Boss had to kill the Sorrow, even though it was the father of her child, she didn't have done it out of hate, but out of duty. And the same goes to Naked Snake, he doesn't want trully to kill her, but it's his duty. You could say, there is no true moment in Metal Gear's story where we are trully presented with a trully evil character, although some have a disturbed and dark mind set, they are always bounded to a dramatic and sad circunstance.

You know that it had happened for some soldiers in some countrys, that have to endure mission and did it even to blame themself, to save their country or else, for the sake of others ? It is the best sacrifice you can give to anyone. If no one is able to do the same for you it's that it's not a "TRUE LOVE". If you can give your everything to someone or something, it's that you have found your goal in life. We humans are stronger with a real GOAL. We are the toughest of all beast in earth when we have it. That is how big feat are accomplished in life. How greatness is accomplished. You don't need to be the strongest man, or greatest. Just find your greatness in that. People can do alot when have all determination, when give their all, when giving their might even to the extent of their life. We are like animals who give their last breath like a raging army. In that, you won't be forgiven, it is how nature will answer you. But we will remember. How great human are, and how stupid they are. But it is how beautiful life is, sometimes. MGS3 have the deepest meaning in all MGS series. It is a true heart story. A really profound meaning and strong story of the two bosses.

Even if it was Venom Snake, Venom was given Big Boss’ memories during his coma. Thus why he “remembers” Paz. Venom Snake would have just as much inclination to use this line as the real Big Boss. That said: Fuck yes I want a Metal Gear 2 remake just for this line

I tried so many times to kill her lethally but I just couldn't do it but I beat it on my 2nd try (with Cqc)

I remember the first time I fought The Boss, I was struggling with her. But then this theme came on and inspired me. As a result, I kept on fighting. Eventually, I got the Boss on her last legs, she had just a tiny bit of her stamina left. And I finished her off with some CQC RIGHT before the song ended. Twas quite an epic way to finish a final boss fight.

I want a MGS with The Boss as main character during the WW2, along with the Cobra Unit.

+serius man why so hostile? I completely understand this song is very very cherished and praised but I personally don't like 70's sounding music. It isn't my cup of tea and I'm more of a person who loves violin music with heavy emotion much like the final boss theme in Bloodborne. Anyways isn't most of the fanbase for the souls series adults? Children definitely would not likely enjoy a tougher game that isn't cod. Although yes indeed I'm younger than you but what does that prove? On top of that I never had a PlayStation and could never play the metal gear games in the past so I clearly couldn't understand your nostalgia for this song. I swear. The vocals take on a new meaning when fighting The Boss. Its like describing that the Boss was always watching over him and that she doesn't care about the war; all she cares about is helping out her student.

I bought the MGS3 Snake Eater theme for my 3DS' menu and this song is always playing on the background... One of the best choices I made all year! 👍🏻 Metal Gear Solid, Kojima Productions... Never forget..! **salute**

james bond was one of kojimas many insprations for this game

I was utterly baffled at the end of the game when i learned the insane amount of burden The Boss had to bear and the amount of her loyalty to her country.

Kojima really put a big impact in many of our lives with MGS never has another game felt so good story wise

Replaying this non stop till the release of the remake, so glad it's confirmed

I love how this played in MGS4 and Solid truly started fighting like his father.

"Finish your mission! Prove your loyalty!... FACE ME!"

Kojima and konami have really made an awesome series . unbelievable! The phantom pain is gonna kick ass

One of the best Metal Gear Solid songs ever, hell it's one of the best video game songs ever.

This instrumental song and the version with the lyrics always makes me shed a tear for The Boss. I want a game to come out that you play as her. I love her so much! SALUTE TO THE BOSS!!!

Nothing will ever top me beating the boss the moment before the end of this song on my very first run through this game. It was, perhaps, the greatest ten minutes of my life.

After the end of the battle, I swear I had to wait maybe 30 minutes, just waiting for something to happen, before coming to the harsh conclusion that I actually had to press the button for the story to continue. This moment is, for me, the most heart-breaking action I had to do as a gamer in my whole life. I was 15 at the time, my English was like early intermediate level, but I played MGS3 right on the US release of the game because I couldn't wait for the EU release in French. I only caught the main line of the story back then, but the cinematics and what I could understand from the dialogues really moved my teenager heart, I could not bring myself to kill The Boss. I re-played the game 2 more times, one time with French subtitles when the EU just release, and once again with English subtitles (a few years later when my English was at middle advanced level). My best rank was Chameleon, Extreme difficulty, no alert, no kill. Maybe the best game ever for me, sentimentally. Thanks Kojima sama and Konami for bringing us a life-changing story/experience, at least for me. My life was never the same after discovering the MGS franchise.

the fight was epic and sad by itself without music, but with music it became one of the best bossfights i ever played. too emotive.

When I heard this play half way through the fight, the fight instantly became epic.

...I was a fool. At the time of MGS1 I used to love Solid Snake, and hate with all my heart Big Boss for giving trouble to this world. I opened my eyes. Big Boss is the true hero. :D You're so supreme!

This song plays in my head everytime during an exam when the TA announces there are only 10min left.

I finished mgs4 today, and when this theme started playing it was awesome.

The first time I played this game, when I beat The Boss, I swear I must have sat for about five whole minutes just trying to find a way of not having to press square. It was just heart rending. Of course, if Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 get remakes, we'll have to "pull the trigger" on Big Boss ourselves, won't we?

That was perfect. You climbing onto the next challenge not knowing what to expect and then the vocals :D

The killing of The Boss was the first time I cried during MGS. She was unreal. This song is perfect for her and every time I hear it, I give a salute to her. *like this to salute to The Boss. The greatest MGS character ever!*

playing this battle with that music is just awesome!! i always try to delay the fight just to reach the point where music begins :))

I think the music helps build a mood and give a sense of urgency for your first play through. I actually ended up figuring out how to beat her after losing almost all of my health, and so I had to play it safe and be spot on with my cqc counter. I ended up killing her on the very last note of this song. It was maybe my most memorable boss fight and most memorable video game experience.

I writing this message on 2023,but the passion for the MGS series born Exatly the first time my hands grab a joystick. Yeah... Metal gear solid was my very first game I ever played and I were having just 5 years. Im a gamer and I played many games in my life. But metal gear series, expecially the third, is my very favorite game for both the story and the world inside of it. This soundtrack is absolutely legendary and I absolutely love it❤. I hope there will be a remake of MGS series soon 😊
