Metal Gear Solid 3 - How to Beat The Fury on Extreme Quickly! (guide in description)

This footage is from my recent MGS3 European Extreme difficulty Foxhound ranking run. This strategy may take quite a few tries to get down, but it's definitely worth it if you're struggling with this fight, and also if you're aiming to get that elusive Foxhound ranking.
When the fight starts, run in the opposite direction to The Fury. He will always start out landing in one of two spots. Look down the passages to find him, then shoot him 3 times with the MK22. He will then fly around and reposition; find him again and shoot him 3 more times, and he will then try to burn you in retaliation. Try and keep an eye on where he goes, and keep repeating this wherever possible.
If you manage to find him standing still and charging up his jetpack, you can shoot him 3 times then. If he gets close to you at any point, and you know you don't have time to aim, you can roll into him for a quick hit and then run away quickly. Sometimes when he's seen you, you'll only manage to get a single shot off on him before he tries to burn you.
You can use the Thermal Goggles to help locate him if there's not too much fire. The Night Vision Goggles can help as well. Try to avoid going near the fire if you can; this can be difficult if he feels trigger happy. If you do catch on fire at any point during the fight, you should equip a cardboard box as soon as you can to extinguish the flames.

Hahaha yep 😂 I tried shooting him, but the second shot didn't count for whatever reason, and then he set me on fire. I wanted my revenge for that, and he was close enough to me, so I just went for it; my revenge and my victory were certainly sweet 😁
Man i died to the fury like 10 times in a row but fucking beat him 1st try using your strat💀 appreciate it bro

Bro it's impossible for me to beat this pos on any difficulty beyond easy. Literally nothing works I die immediately
Is this on easy? Cause i know for a fact that Fury acts WAY differently when i play him. He hones in on me while flying...no videos ive seen on him is he flyin. I was hit him with what seems like many more sniper bullet. 😂 can someone point me in the right direction to find this boss on normal for PS5 American version please? Thank you

I did have the Mosin Nagant, and it does do more damage to him, but the MK22 is easier to use to get consistent damage. You also can't use the SVD if you're going for non-lethal 😊
