This and the Deadly Premonition series got me through some rough times. I miss those days.

Man, remember when GB Infinite vote options included the next video in a series and chat kept it locked on Metal Gear Scanlon for the entire series. The chat had a meltdown every time a vote came up. It was chaos for days. Good times.

This series was the reason I paid for Giant Bomb Premium for... I don't even know how long. I'm crying just a little bit. Just a few sniffles of blissful nostalgia.

I can't comprehend how old this is already. I still think of this as "newer Giant Bomb"

Holy cow! How did Giant Bomb know it was my birthday? Ok, it’s not for another six months, but that’s how long it’ll take me to finish watching all these again! Seriously, this is awesome. I watched this years ago all the way through, and I’ve always wanted to be able to pop in and find my favorite bits from the series. I’m gonna have to make a list of timestamps for easy access.

I bought GB premium back in the day purely because of this series. This series alone is a piece of gaming history.

Metal Gear Scanlon is what got me into giantbomb but the site has never worked well with playlists for me so this is a godsend.

OMG thank you for putting this up! I've been hankering for some old GB stuff lately and this definitely helps to scratch that itch!

Taking me back to simpler times. Thanks guys. My friends and I used to say ‘Vulcan Raven; Clean and Shaven’ and thought it was the funniest thing in the world. We were about 12 though.

MGS is a series with a lot of weird barriers to get over before you can appreciate it, and I never really thought I would "get" it before watching this series, especially as I'm extremely picky about the quality of storytelling in games. But Dan's maniacal devotion to evangelizing Metal Gear actually worked on me better than it worked on Drew. I gave up on MGS 1 about halfway, but I found myself really liking 2 and then just played them all. By the time I watched the Peace Walker videos, I had played the hell out of that game on PS3 and was all like "Come on, guys, Peace Walker ain't that bad!" It is in fact pretty bad in a few spots. But by that time, I just liked Metal Gear enough that I was willing to put up with it. All thanks to these dumb awesome videos. A sincere o7 to Dan for being a lunatic, and to Drew for being such a good sport and powering through those few stretches where he was clearly ready to snap the controller, Dan's neck, or both.

Not only my favourite GB series, but one of my favourite pieces of games media as a whole. The whole series is just so incredibly good. Thank you for putting them up for all to enjoy ❤

4:03:25 Over the years I have come to appreciate MGS playthroughs with people who like the codec and will call the codec for the codec's sake. When you watch people like Drew who only calls the codec when he gets stuck, you end up with a backlog of post-cutscene codec discussions to get through first, and people like Drew just gets confused and frustrated. Like here when Drew's trying to get information about the Nikita + gas room, but Nastasha has a bunch of Ocelot boss fight + President Baker cutscene dialogue that she hasn't had the chance to say yet 🤷‍♂
