the best GB stuff right now sometimes feels like a morning zoo crew with how forced the goofiness can feel at times, and seeing normal guy-ass Drew as the foil for Dan again really highlights that gulf between the dynamics then and now

@@mediocrevideosback then the crew was legendary and it was in-person. Idk about you but to me that’s a special era of gaming culture period, lighting in a bottle. My problem is how you gotta tear down the current crew to prove your point. For one the current crew would flow so much better if they were always in person. But mainly why tear one down to build another up? That’s just hating behavior. You enjoy what you enjoy for its good qualities, why stick around after that fact to trash what you don’t like.. shouldn’t be in the equation imo. Well hey at least we can both enjoy this whole series now and we don’t gotta pay a dime. Now that’s love to me. peace

​@@Peace_Flygod the current crew flows just fine as far as I'm concerned, it's more that the personalities are all kind of homogeneous now when you think about the Whiskey Media/CBS era of GB, a lot of its appeal was how everybody bounced off of each other differently-a Vinny/Jeff video had a noticeably different vibe from a Vinny/Drew video or a Vinny/Dan video and so on-and Metal Gear Scanlon was some of the best premium content they did because you had Dan acting as a Metal Gear sherpa to someone who is pretty different from him, someone so inexperienced with the PlayStation that he called the Square button the "H" button on multiple occasions, and that led to a very unique and memorable series for being something that was just "two dudes play the Metal Gear Solid games" you look at the current best GB series, Blight Club, and while it's a lot of fun because there's a lot of chemistry there, it's almost the opposite of what Metal Gear Scanlon was with three people who all have really similar vibes, perspectives, and interests, and every episode ends up feeling like the same thing with the same bits and subject matter, especially since Jess was fired (Blight Club drinking game: drink every time they bring up wrestling, Disney, Nintendo, or movies from when they were 15 years old) no ill will intended; current GB does a lot of things well (they cover news now better than when they hired a dude explicitly for news coverage) but when they dump all of one of its best series ever onto KZread, it's hard not to reflect on how different it is now

The tanker part was on a demo disc. Me and my buddy got that disc what felt like months before the game came out. We played that tanker 20 hours a week. I don't think there's a single thing we didn't do on there
