I like the mix of the two. The first half feels like she's talking DIRECTLY to Raiden, how much it would hurt her to kill him, if she could feel anything at all. She feels like they're the same, and maybe deep down, wishes things didn't have to be this way. It's a classic case of, "if our fates were switched, would you have my life, and I yours?" And the part all around conveys this feeling of love. Not romantic, not platonic, but a different kind, only recognizable by warriors and fighters. A love for your opponent, for the power they hold within them, and for the pain they went through. But she's warning him to not let her get close, that she'll just hurt him. Almost like the reason she's fighting him is so she DOESN'T hurt him even more than just killing him. The other half feels like she's almost venting everything to Raiden, what she went through, why she feels so empty. No matter what she does, she'll always remain a stranger to the world, and to herself. She is, truly, alone. I always felt bad for her. Yeah, she's by no means a good person, or anything close to innocent, but she COULD'VE been. Circumstances, however, turned her into a cold blooded, emotionless killer. But, staring at Raiden, she actually feels something for once. Sorry for the ramble, this is an awesome mix though and I wanted to give my feelings on it. Nice job!

It's been awhile. :) Sorry guys. The laptop I had everything on is gone. Just a week or so after the song uploaded, I had a bad breakup, and got depressed. Just had life hit me pretty hard and fast. And now years later, I'm in a better place. Even got a new pc. So now, I'm wondering what I should do with my life and I realize... maybe I should go all in on this music thing. :) Looking back, I'm so shocked that the video has so many views lol. It was just a little thing i did for fun. But I can't stop thinking about it. I like it and i have ideas about what to do next. So... know that im actually working on something again. :)

her story was definitely good for how little we got to know about her, and her death is actually... not as sad as it could be, kinda like psyco-mantis in MGS1, they both died happily. Mantis cause he actually helped someone and it felt good... Mistral cause she finally had a cause and she died for it, understanding how the men she killed felt. least that's my interpretation

I’ve enjoyed Mistral’s boss battle mostly because of her theme. That little piano solo is just what my ear is searching every time

Of all the Winds of Destruction, Mistral is the only character without equipment on her face during battle. It's quite ironic that she found herself facing all these people who hides their face during combat and so she feels like a stranger in a strange war.

technically she does hide a pretty big part of her face under her hair not really armor, but still something that hides her face at least a bit

It hits at the same level as the original game's lyrics. Especially that last line, that's some incredible stuff. The idea of surrendering yourself to your impulses and throwing aside your morality seems like a welcome respite from the internal clash between bloodthirst and conscience, but Mistral who is even now haunted by guilt knows that falling in love with violence isn't as romantic and freeing as it might seem.

this version is better as a song, the original is better as boss music.

Yeah, Dmc2, sad thing only a few people know about her who played that game. With the recent release of the updated original NieR and Prince of Persia, I think we wouldn't mind a remake/update similar to that for older gems that are unplayable and unobtainable if you don't have the exclusive disks and consoles from that era that they can be played on (I do fortunately, but wouldn't mind replaying some classics again just upgraded instead of the yearly copy paste games with the occasional original thinking games with their own style and ideas that oppose the overall boring but good for sales safe norm nowadays). Miss the times when a man with a shirt in jeans walked in a conference room full of business executives in suits and said they need some more time to really polish the game since once they get on the disk there's no dlc, no patches, it's a complete finished product and they're still implementing new and new cool ideas into it and the business suits had to shuffle paperwork to work with the creators, but business is business and safe money is the best so most games nowadays feel like copy paste filler to fit a quota to be able to employ so many people. I do enjoy and play the modern games too but sometimes you can feel some of the old mindblowing ideas and mechanics are just copy-pasted or made but worse than in the past (like Far Cry 2's fire mechanic compared to newer FC's).

@@bomes2084 True, there's nothing even really happening and that game's combat is not stylish, levels are mostly the same confusing mess, the only good thing that came out of was a unique character we never saw again, maybe a remaster of 2 with redesigned modern maps and stylish combat would be good, maybe they'll do an updated remaster re-release who knows

@@argonianguy6226 indeed, heres some replaced blade mode concepts i made up Armstrong DLC = Rage Mode (uses punches and moves like in his boss battle) Monsoon DLC = Magnetic Mode (like you said) Mistral DLC = Calls her units? (that you fight in her boss encounter?) Sundowner DLC = uses shields (also what you said) finally there also should've been a DLC campaign that ties MGS2 into MGS4 and then revengance... or even a DLC that explained how raiden became a cyborg and his first missions with the Exoskeleton.. shame this never happened though...

it's during the scene where Mistral talks to Raiden. so Pre-fight

Fun fact Mistral's French part is actually talking about how the heat is overwhelming, but its the breaking of the bow of the ship that is waking her
