Metal detecting Britain's highest beach - Gaddings Dam

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today I set off with the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 to the UK's highest beach, Gaddings Dam. At 1200 ft above sea level on the Pennine Way above Todmorden and Walsden in West Yorkshire, this has become a popular tourist attraction with it's white sandy beaches and amazing views.
Part of this video was filmed in ‪@DiggerDawn‬ territory.

You need to come here and help me find some Roman stuff in the garden and the fields around. I have permission too👍😉 there's a lot of targets in the garden alone and remember the pennine way goes right through it so I bet lots of walkers and montane spine race runners have dropped money and things.

That black rock is called coke pal. On my equinox 800 it comes up as a target I’d as 2 and I just leave them in the ground there’s loads around everywhere. Love the detecting video pal I’ve a few permissions in silsden and by Skipton now been hunting all over for some. Skipton one I’m doing now and top of silsden I can start that in September👍🏼 if you ever want to come try it on e fields just comment back on one of my comments to you and I’ll give you my email or number so you can pop over and meet up. I’ll keep distance so you can do your filming. Been finding 1700 George 2, copper coins and a silver sixpence 1899. Only been on that field twice now got that permission last week

Cheers buddy, I will bare that in mind. Skipton and Cravendale must go back centuries with old packhorse and Roman tracks. I tend to only pick up the signals that are on the none ferrous scale with this detector. There are no numbers to go off and usually a penny has a softer sound to it. There is a local farmer who has said that i could go on a field of his but this was just in passing conversation, I need to ask him properly for permission but he seemed ok about it.

MrDazP1 not a problem pal. Yeah it does been researching and there’s a few Iron Age settlements around these ends it’s abit hard to detect them as there on the Moreland and the heather is pretty overgrown. We’re out yesterday for a walk where I’ve seen a Roman road on a ancient map I have and I’ve found where it leads from harden moor over to Halifax then through to Manchester. Going to get out this week to them farmers for permission on them fields where it used to run through. Got a feeling that’s going to be a few good fields to do. 👍🏼👍🏼
