To go all the way across the pond to detect a local field.. of course you had a long trip and wanted to get a video out of detecting like promised but i was thinking roman or Celtic relics and coins. They do have group hunts that you might be able to join in on but membership is probably required. Thanks Shane Happy hunting and good luck

Might be able to explain why tou found so many 2p/5p coins from the 80s. There was a goal post in your video that suggests you were digging on/near a football park, possibly used by a local school. The kids back in the 80s thought it was cool to throw away their small change, in an adolescent demonstration that that money wasnt worth keeping. That could explain why so many coins.

Nice video....yes driving on the wrong side of the road is exhausting.... you have to think all the time "do I this correct" and its scares you when they pass you on the right side or when you have to take a left turn to stay on the left lane... Shifting gear with your left hand...lol... I think that the coins of the seventies have to do with the fact that there were probably more spectators at that time on that foodbal (soccer) field and that most of the audience stayed behind the coal ... Field looks somewhat abandoned..... see comment of CryoGen....think he is right Hotel rooms are somewhat smaller compared to the US I am looking forward to your next video

Love the vid. Pre 1970- 1971 the pound was worth 2.40. In 1970-1 decimalisation occurred and 100 pence = 1 pound. Those 1971 coins are not a surprise to find. 1 and 2 pence pieces were made of copper until around 1994. Today they are clad covered in copper.

What is your Geocache name? I agree that is a well crafted cache.! Geocaching has changed a lot since the early days of caching. People sign up and make a sloppy hide and never maintain it. I retired from logging my finds a few years ago. I just had a Geocacher log their 47,000 milestone find on one of my hides. My Geocache name is MM32. Now back to metal detecting. Enjoyed the coin shooting of the football field and looking forward to the next hunt.

the coppers are 1p(small) and 2p(large), 5p(small) and 10p(larger) are silver. 50p is bigger than the 10p and not round and silver. £1 is gold color. 1p and 2p reason why they are old is because there is so many in circulation so no need to mint any new ones. 10p, 50p and £1 are in constant change due to counterfeiting hence the recent dates. The £1 has changed recently that looks similar to the £2 coin. What you found is still legal tender but can only be changed at the bank

Hey man, it is random as I got to your channel a few days ago, all your interests are unknown to me so enjoyed something new. Then all of a sudden you were in Dunfermline! My town! What's the chances of that? I was like huh? Thought I was going off my head. Anyways ignore these penfolds with the rule books, realistically if I had a metal detector I'd go there tomorrow completely unconcerned. On the odd chance that a council worker cares, or police even notices you, know the regulations, and can be arsed actually stopping to confront such a peaceful activity, at best they would just ask you nicely not to. Anyway Keep up the good work on your channel and take care.

Sometimes treasure hunters assume everybody knows what we're doing, and that everybody does it. Good metal detectors cost more than a lot of people want to spend on something of dubious value. Here in the US a decent detector starts at about $250-$400, most people would rather put that on a new IPhone or the beer fund. Most potential newby's to metal detecting have to make a leap of faith to plunk down that type of money. I would definitely put aside a few more hours for that field. Maybe carry a very visible trash bag while your detecting just in case someone objects to you being there.

So many do gooders in the comments- 'oooh, you're breaking the law... you should be checking local regulations!' Sometimes the price of freedom is paying the fine, or yelling 'scatter' and doing a runner. I reported the comments for hate speech because they offended my feelings. The more people who report them, the more chance we have of getting some of these do gooders incarcerated. Good video. Sorry for trying to get some of your subscribers jailed.

Or more likely they figured Klesh wouldn't be openly violating the law if he knew he was doing such and would appreciate the heads up.

We were just trying to help a youtuber we all like and let him know about our stupid laws incase of the small chance he got in trouble, you know how crazy our UK government is, that's all. No need to get "offended" Janus :P

I'm with you Janus..... Some people are frightened of their own fuckin' shadows... The landowners want to keep the peasantry off their massive estates in case you find something incredibly valuable....!! Fifty grand in our pocket is really useful.... but if Lord Fuckface auctions it for fifty grand - it fuels his yacht round the Mediterranean for a season.....

You're not allowed to metal detect anywhere in Britain without permission from the local council or landowner if it is private property. In a lot of places the council will be totally against it and disallow any metal detecting at all, inlcuding local parks and literally any other bit of land as that belongs to them. You're also totally forbidden from detecting on historical sites, it's against the law. I'm from Britain and I was looking into metal detecting myself, and this is what I learnt. In my area they just don't allow it on "public" land at all sadly, on private it obviously depends on the owner so you can still there if they allow it. Definitely makes it much harder to do as a hobby without a lot of hassle so I never got into it :( Also if you were detecting on this land without permission from the council/owners you actually broke the law man since it looks like a public playing field :S (I don't mind, just letting you know incase the police there turn up). Before you go back home take that pound coin to a bank and get it changed into one of the new ones, since those ones are recently no longer legal tender but you can still swap it for a new one at a bank (assuming you don't want to keep the coin). Love your videos by the way! Found your channel today and been watching every single video! It's awesome :D

I'm sorry but I'm British too, It's sucks so badly but its true. Town and state owned land is a no go area for detecting..ALL of it. I'm glad I live in america now...some restrictions in my State but nowhere near like it is back home. Don't feel too guilty though..all of us British Detectorist bend the rules occasionally ;) Beaches are for the most part owned by the crown and a free permit can be obtained online for free.

Sorry for the negative sounding comment, I didn't want to be discouraging - just wanted to let you know this info incase anyone there starts giving you problems. You know how it is in the UK with stupid laws and such :/ I'd say do the detecting anyway and if anyone says anything about it I'd say you didn't know because you are a tourist, what can they even say to that? :D

It's easy for me to say, I live in a jurisdiction where the private individual has no mineral ownership rights (South Australia), but from my time in Britain, they can be really hard arsed on finds. Digging up history is a serious business there and you can end up owning 0% of a find. Glad you had a good time however.

Yeah I didn't keep anything except for a piece of quartz rock I found (small about the size of a thimble), other than that, I left all coins and gold I found there in Scotland, but still threw away the trash.. Yes I had a good time, but very busy making videos. Thanks for watching
