First time Jan Egeland saw this video himself.. was during a big UN meeting... where they pulled the video up on the big screen during the meeting..

So the backstory about this song is that someone had written to their talkshow complaining that they had not honored Jan Egelands birthday. So they went ahead and made this over the top rock tribute to make up for it.

The guy had a ted talk nearly ten years after that song and every comment under the vid is about that song :D

All Ylvis songs, and prank videos are brilliant.! "I will Never be a Star" -Bjarte Ylvis The song of the overlooked 3rd brother.😂 Bjarte was working in the U.S. as a pilot when "The Fox" screamed it's way up the charts. Bjarte's song is a club ballot style song.

If theres 1 man you should trust, it is the Jaaaaaaaaaanyyyyyy boiiiiiiiiiiii !!

The thing about "What does the fox say" not being written "serious" has a different meaning. They got studio time with the famous Stargate producers in New York (they got it as return from a previous favour) , Ylvis was doing their own talk show at the time. So they thought it would be more funny to return to their talk show with the story of haven written a silly silly song that didn't make it big in the States...sorry. Instead of making a serious try. They tried to "fail" of making a hit on purpose with "What does the fox say". So yes, it was written and recorded as a "joke"

The song was shown during a meeting in the UN when Egeland was there. 😁

Its such a treasure finding all these reactions. 😄 on the third ylvis song now. They have so many fun songs and Im glad you are diving into it😄. They have so many funny sketches and hidden camera stuff, as well as all of their clever and also catchy songs. They are very talented guys! Yeah Vegard!! , well both of them but I think Vegard has the best voice. He did this live as well (its in another video on youtube) and its very impressive!
