Erik Dower, a friend of mine, created a beautiful analog Eurorack module. I try to do it justice in this video.

This module definitely makes more sense in context, and reading about it was more confusing than clarifying. Thanks for taking the time to make this quick overview!

The little laugh at 10:38 just sold a Coherence.

man, I saw this go up just as I was leaving to go camping, so watching it was pretty much the first thing I did when I got back. I love the little intro you did, and it feels like your video composition has taken another step up, this one really flows well! I’m having a bit of trouble following it, but honestly I blame that on my tired brain - I can feel the information flowing out, I just can’t muster the energy to really engage 😅. anyways, thanks as always! Hope all is well!

I've been watching your videos for a while. It's awesome you know my friend Erik. Small world! We used to make electronic music back in Oakland. It was so good to hang with him last time I was in Berlin.

A bit late to join the Coherence-Party & this video, but I have to admit, this one really brings extraordinary interesting patterns and a smile to my face. Gave my overabundance of functiongenerators a new sense.

I refer to this too many times... I need to decide if its HP is worth it or not, and lately I'm finding it is... my only problem is that D1000... you have one.. I don't... give. :D you should do a few more "tutorials" of this natural... simple/straight forwards.. examples of some patches.. THNX for uploading, cheers!

Seems really amazing! To me it kinda sounds like a logic module taken to the extreme, which is lovely. How would you say it compares to the Joystick Axis Generator (their functionality seems somewhat similar) and how much would you say this module has in a system that's more geared towards non-rhytmical drone/ambient-music? Thanks for the cool tutorial, you have a real knack for them too.

Glad you enjoyed it, I have been kicking myself over all the things I could have done better with this one, but could not because I don't have a scope and thus decided to skip technical bits. I think it's more geared for rhythm orientated systems. You could extract events from rising drones for switching things of course, and divide these down so the changes are slow, but it's more fun with rhythms I would say. JAG I use more for modulation, never for Gates. It's probably better for drone, though that pitch out of the Coherence is special. Never heard such a musical sample and hold before. I would like 8 of these in a module.

Thank you! Seems like I'm leaning towards the JAG, which is cool because Malekko is a nice company. I already have two Varigates, so it works from that angle too! If I'm ever expanding to drum synthesis on eurorack format (which is pretty probable), I really need to check Coherence out. I love the design on it and it seems like it could expand any system to ridiculous capabilities!

hmmm, so some kind of weird clocked sample and hold / track and hold, with some logic and clock division? seems like a lot of hp and money for what it does, but I like the concept

Where did you get the cable that goes from your morphogene out to your recorder?
