I am looking for a cordless angle grinder for horses hooves so it needs to be a flat surface, lightweight and safe. Can you advise which one to buy in the UK? I have left messages on the UK Metabo site but don't seem to get any response. Please advise?

Hello Babush, thanks for your comment. Why do you think all of our products are Made in China? Yes, we have an own production factory in Shanghai (China) but most of our products are still produced in our headquarter in Nürtingen (Germany). Did you already work with our power tools? Best regards from Germany Oliver (Team Metabo)

    1) i dont know but i dont trust Metabo... Maybe because is moved to Shanghai-China, maybe because Metabo doesn't have industial tools but just some tools for home use or small professional workshops. 2) Metabo doest have industrial grade tools like working with same tool all day working for long time, durable on different situations like oudoor use, wet weather, dust... 3) Metabo tools are double expensive than other tools made by manufacturers (no sense) which already proven by experience the durability of tools made by other more experienced manufacturers. 4) you are on youtube, and besides advertisements you do here, should also bee prepared for reclamation. If you have any fact that metabo tools can last for 30+ years on everyday use, then im ready to watch that story when you will upload here. If you cant find one fact then i will be proud with Metabo if you can find one, just one fact that Metabo angle grinder which is used every day for 3 years, not 30 yars, and still is working just fine. To tell you just to know why you cant find such fact is that on such tools which can last for long time use on exreme conditions is that I have never seen plastic parts inside machine or outside. Metabo make tools with plastic gears inside. Metabo make tools which rotor of the electromotor contain plastic. Metabo make tools which main body is plastic. Metabo made tools which cables are made from hard rubber which breaks easy. 5) i dont use Metabo, I have bought just 1 angle grinder machine but during first day use the machine started to burn in hands of my worker while working. My experience say that Made in China is just one expensive rubbish and nothing more. And my experience say that machines which contain just 1 part made from plastic is rubbish nothing more than that. Respect for chinese people, im not racist nor nationalist, but chinese can not make durable things. That mean when Metabo is moved to china is same thing, Metabo no more can make durable tools, because is researching for cheap materials which mean low quality materials, Metabo by moving to china meaning the fact that is rearching for cheap labor force which can not make high grade droducts. Sure, Metabo still use EU offices and industry in Germany just because advertisement. Same things can not work for all peoples, no more trust for exensive garbages. If you disagree with my opinion, then bring a fact that you can change my mind before to come on your mind to delete this comment.

@@thepreserver83 Plastic could be a more supreme material depending on the application. For example, plastic is a better material choice for a game controller shell; you don't want it to weigh 10 lbs. The same goes for power tools; you do not wish to carry a 20 lbs dead weight all day for 30 years, yourself put it. Can Metabo do better? Of course. Does Metabo practice plan obsolescence? Yes, it does highly likely. However, is Metabo complete trash? I don't think so, relatively speaking.

@@thepreserver83 Unfortunately, things are not always going our way; sometimes, it could be unpleasant. Companies are driven by profit. It is neither about the longevity of products, quality, nor safety; those are often merely marketing. A better question would be how much they deliver their promises compared to the others.

Hello Binh, we don’t have a kick-back technology rather than a mechanical safety clutch in our tools. The tools including the safety clutch can be recognized by the safety clutch icon in the description at our homepage. www.metabo.com/com/en/info/competence/competence/advantages-of-metabo-machines/ Best regards Oliver (Team Metabo)

Heaps of good knowledge and tools in this one but I don't think I've ever watched a safety video with so much disregard for common sense... He literally said a "hammer or wrench is a power tool". I have used a grinder most days of my working life and I have NEVER put a 'type 1 guard' on a grinder for any reason and I absolutely would fire myself if I was wasting time switching guards to make a cut, ridiculous. Really this video is a bit of a throwback, I remember 10 yrs ago when industrial sites would collect your phones or demand you leave them in a locker room before a shift, I really don't think that was about safety though. These days in construction every one is always wasting time on their phones. Every spotter does no spotting, drivers, operators, traffic controllers staring into a screen; half the guys I work with are scrolling instagram or checking their texts while I'm working right there, we need phones these days but we need an attitude adjustment even more. That attitude adjustment doesn't include safety stalinism that leaves no room for common sense or improv. Seriously, if safety was really first then none of us would ever leave the house and go to work in the first place - The job is obviously first we should strive to do it in a safe way but those rules sometimes have got to bend to get the job done.

Dear Elliot, I get your point, I think our colleague broke it down to these oversimplified basics like the hammer comparison for better and fast understanding without complexity since this is a very long instruction video. Anyways, thank you very much for your feedback , we take anything into consideration and thank you for your trust in Metabo as well. Be sure to check our 6 safety features of our current angle grinder range at the bottom of this page: www.metabo.com/com/en/tools/cordless-tools/cutting-grinding-metal-processing/cordless-angle-grinders/ Thank you and have a great and productive rest of the day! Hmm, gloves? My rule of thumb is: anything with a spindle takes no gloves. Rather sacrifice a small piece of flesh than have the grinder grab onto a tough leather glove and wrap your entire arm around its spindle. Also, a kickback isn't just a disk binding in a kerf for arbitrary reasons. It's when the cutting force pulls or pushes the tool deeper into the cut, starting a vicious cycle that results in the tool "kicking". Trying to cut with the part of the disk that's opposite the motor yet slightly "above" (with sparks flying "down") is such a situation.

For cutting metal with a cut-off wheel I had sparks flying on my hands. That was painful. Then I put on gloves and I was much more comfortable and I could focus more on making an accurate cuts as well as alertness on safety, like being prepared for kickback.
