Meta Revealed VR Metaverse Gloves

Ғылым және технология

Meta revealed the Meta VR Gloves that are ready for Metaverse. These futuristic VR haptic gloves are made by Meta and the VR gloves enable you to feel what you touch in the Metaverse. These gloves are very important for virtual reality and maybe even AR (augmented reality). Virtual reality and augmented reality are becoming a big thing now as many companies are working on products that will make the stay in Metaverse easy and comfortable. There are virtual reality suits, shoes, and now also gloves. This video is about the Metaverse gloves that are made by Meta. Meta currently owns the VR headset Oculus, Quest, and Quest 2. We’ll also talk about the current VR news as virtual reality is becoming bigger and bigger.
As the Metaverse is coming, we are about to exist in two worlds at the same time. The first is the world we are already familiar with. It is physical, tangible, and real. The second is a virtual world where anything is possible. It will be like playing a game but you’ll be INSIDE that game. If you already have a VR headset, you know what I’m talking about but the truth is that most people haven’t been inside a Virtual Reality yet.
Currently, there are companies like Oculus with its Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest VR Headset which provides the immersive experience of being INSIDE a game and interacting with the virtual world using the current Touch Controllers.
But even this will be soon history. As Meta, the company behind Facebook, Oculus, and Metaverse is working on something groundbreaking! A special glove that will allow you to FEEL whatever you touch in the Metaverse or any other Virtual Reality world. With these VR Meta Gloves, you’ll literally feel anything you place your hands on.
Join us today as we explore the endless possibilities of immersion in Facebook's Metaverse and take a deep dive into one of its most innovative technologies yet; the Meta Gloves.
Welcome to Future Mission.
Ready Player One is considered the bible of the Metaverse for good reason. In the movie, we were practically handed the blueprint of an ideal virtual world and its boundless possibilities. For many companies in the VR/AR space, there has been an unspoken race towards exploring those possibilities. However, complete immersion sits at the very top of their priority list.

Even funnier is that bHaptics just announced their own gloves, which will probably beat the other two to the consumer market at a relatively affordable price point. Mind you, they aren't nearly as sophisticated, since the use an LFE motor in each fingertip, similar to their vests and other modules. It won't be nearly the same sense of touch, but for gaming that could add just enough of a sensation to add a new level of realism. Come to think of it, I'm surprised he didn't mention bHaptics at all, since they're the only company that has a haptic suit on the retail market right now.

Plus about 3 × 3 × 3 for the rest of the unit, unless you have a multi set up. Then you will have how many tanks, plus server rack(s) so you can run multiple with less space than if you did each one individually.

The way I see it, the metaverse is essentially already here. It's just in its infancy. We already have numerous programs, from VR multiplayer games to VRChat and similar applications, that allow people to connect in VR over the internet. The catch is, they aren't connected as one single experience like the Oasis. You basically have the Oculus or SteamVR launcher, then the program. As I see it, cross platform capability is a core facet of the metaverse. Meta, regardless of how they rebranded themselves, is gating themselves away from the metaverse by producing console-like hardware and focusing on their own storefront. Sure, they have the largest market share of headsets because the Quest 2 is affordable, since they subsidise the cost of it like any console and make up the difference in game sales. Also, Valve is the only real competing VR storefront right now, but they don't limit you to just their Index headset to use their ecosystem. It's a bit reminiscent of the Apple vs Android situation, or Xbox vs PlayStation vs PC. It's all restrictive, and the original concept of the metaverse that Neal Stephenson first described in Snow Crash was the complete opposite of what Meta is working towards. I do hope that a lot of their proposed products come to the market at competitive price point, but if I can't use it without other Oculus or Meta products I wouldn't consider it. Also, I think you have left a few companies out of your video that are worth mentioning. When you mention the Virtuix Omni One, you actually show a clip of Thrillseeker on his Kat Walk C. Kat VR currently has the only omnidirectional treadmill on the consumer market, and while it's not perfect it's a great first generation product. Both KatVR and Virtuix have commercial models, but there are a lot of sketchy claims about Virtuix's consumer treadmill, like their intent to have their own headset, storefront, and subscription service, which sounds to me like they're more interested in roping in more investors than actually bringing a consumer product to market. While the Sixers used omnidirectional treadmills based on the Omni One, the treadmill Parzival used in Ready Player One was actually based on the Infinadeck. They're only focused on the commercial market right now, but they have a great design that is essentially a 2D powered treadmill that can keep you centred while running. I don't see this being a consumer product any time soon, but it's a good look at what is on the horison. HaptX has also been working on VR gloves for a much longer time. You showed them briefly, but you didn't mention them or talk about them. While they aren't anywhere close to or really even considering bringing a consumer product to market, the prototypes Meta has shown are so similar to what they've been working on that HaptX has accused them of copying their technology. That said, Haptx has let Meta staff try out their prototypes. It's entirely possible that Meta caught up to them by developing their own product, but either way Meta isn't the only company in this game. In fact, there's a third company for haptics that deserves mentioning. Currently, bHaptics has the only consumer haptic products on the market. Their vests and other modules use LFE motors to vibrate and simulate impacts and touch. While this could never be as realistic as the microfluidic haptic feedback that HaptX and Meta are working on, it's just enough of a stimuli in high paced gaming to give that realistic sensation, and they are relatively affordable. Also, a few days ago (after you posted this video), they announced they are working on their own gloves with an LFE motor in each fingertip, which is due to be released by the end of 2022. While this won't provide nearly the same sensation as the HaptX or Meta gloves, it'll be on the market long before them and provide a decent level of feedback for gaming.

I never suffered badly with motion sickness, I did get vertigo a few times when I had my original Rift, but now it doesnt bother at all, no matter I do. Sure, it might be the first truly *streamlined* haptic feedback glove, but there are several, years old products already available, using the same technology facebook claims to be their own (when it's already patented by others since prior to 2015). It does that crap because it can dunk a ton of overhead profits and drown rivals in patent infringment lawsuits that last years. It's a dirty and shameless tactic. It's really dissapointing because the product itself seems so damn sleek.

Im hugely into VR. I have been since 2012, "metaverse" is overhyped. I promise it isn't gonna be what you think it is. I can tell a lot of you haven't used VR. yes, it does make you feel in another world to begin with but everyone acts like it's a replacement for our lives. all these "metaverses" with "real estate" is so niche and all hypehype it will never have no real value. No one is going to pay for this space with real money unless it's hype beast like all the NFt and Crypto boys. Metaverse already exist like Roblox for example. Vr should be about endless opurtunity to experince things not waste your money to advertise i promise you, it will not work that way. I can guarantee we are far from a meteverse

agreed. Most of it will be shit shilling ads to people. but the concept of a 'metaverse' goes way back.,probably before second-life.

This video makes me want to get rid of my devices and get out in the real world... If this was just a huge game i would love it but the fact that it takes over the real life and work is scary Just imagine when this really takes off. You decide to go to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather and play with your dog but you quickly realise that you’re all alone because everyone decided to be in the Metaverse. The Metaverse is a very flawed idea in the way that it looks promising and downright interesting on the surface, but extremely horrifying and disfuncional when you look at what consequences it may have on societies. This so called "social interaction" will only diminish actual social interaction up to a point where nothing will be as genuine as living life the way it was meant to be lived. Imagine wanting to be alone and hanging out in a meta world instead of going somewhere in real life... imagine how depressing it would be to celebrate your birthday with VR with a virtual cake and friends and then you take off your VR headset and realise you're actually all alone This is 8 minutes of motivation to get back to building real life human interactions and connections with the people around us, and getting the heck off the internet, Considering it's now impossible to have a conversation with somebody without then pulling out their phone I feel like this is going to be a huge issue. The fact that so much money and resources would have been spent on this... Tell's me that they already know it will be economically viable. In other words, they know this will be extremely addictive. Technology is severely limiting our character as human beings. To a great extent, we no longer have to have to have patience, hard labor, physically socializing, be self-sufficient, learning the hard way, etc. It seriosuly takes away from any human effort or desire to test ourselves and endure hardships with many things we would otherwise learn greatly from. A seriously over-looked phenomenon that will bring us to our grave. Thankfully, judging by the completely negative responses this concept has received so far, people seem to be on the right page, and that's good to know.

I agree with you with all that you said but people on the right page? Is the one thing I disagree with. This is the future unfortunately and technology wise, it's just going to get more immersive and the VR keeps selling, the need for these gloves becomes more. So I do see the world becoming in a way were, we live and work in the house and when we want to have a break or a walk we use VR.

More like 7 - 10 years. Technology is advancing at such a rapid pace now. 20 years we’ll be seeing things we can’t even comprehend now.
