Here’s the color code, as far as I can tell: Yellow: This is his neutral state, when he isn’t feeling any particular emotion Green: this one means he’s speculating, or otherwise in deep thought Blue: As far as I can tell, this one denotes pride, especially for someone else Pink: Amusement or general “good moodiness” Red: I believe this one means he’s pissed or otherwise in “combat mode” White: I saw some flashes of white here and there, so I think that’s meant to communicate surprise and/or confusion I also noticed that his eyes change in intensity too, which I think is proportional to how much of said emotion he’s feeling. The only exception I think is when his eyes are a dark yellow, which indicates unconsciousness or sleep.

Now that I think about it, his eyes did also go dark during the whole WolfWrath/ChilliDog situation, which with this gives us two possiblities: - That's a wolfwrath/chillidog specific thing - that's another one of these eye things, possibly showing that he's really weak instead of an emotion. just a thought.

I doubt he's a Kirby since he has bat like wings and doesnt use copy abilities, that would mean morpho and galacta knight are Kirby's as well

@@happygamer42O a headcanon I heard somewhere is that their species has a permanent ability after reaching a certain age, stronger ones having multiple (MK being exceptionally strong granting him 3: Sword, Wing and Ninja, latter maybe turning the wings into bat ones). Again: HEADcanon.

I've heard about red meaning sensing danger. However, in the scene there wasn't anything creeping up behind him. All he did was say "Nightmare". So, to me, I didn't feel like he was sensing danger. Of course he knows it can be dangerous, but it seemed to me that he was more upset/discouraged than watchful. Maybe I'm wrong. There's only one scene with red so it can be hard to say for sure.

Sometimes (all the time), anime/game soundtrack licensing can be a real pain in the ass as it doesn’t always come with the series deal and have to be purchased separately. Also, it’s 4Kids. They’re as cheap as they come.

He’s so cute...

I like meta knights pink and red eye change one shows he's actually pissed off while pink shows he feels appreciated and flattered X3 but when he sees Kirby for the first time in the anime his eyes looked shocked and when he says "Kirby...but how?' like he knows this how's he is and who he belongs to but I assume he's the dad but then again he can be his uncle for all i know

God I need to rewatch this epic anime.

this came out a fair amount before Kirby really had much lore, and the show does technically have it's own lore. Though it definitely would be cool to have a new Kirby anime with a modern Kirby lens!

This show also influenced the Kirby lore on some subtle level too. Meta Knight's modern design for his sword, along with its name being Galaxia, came from the anime. And his current role as a mentor-rival to Kirby is something this show fully established. And Kirby being some hyper-powerful extraterrestrial, that despite their nature just wants to relax and eat food, was pretty much lifted 1 to 1 by the time Star Allies came out.

I have a huge crush on meta knight. I LOVE him! His eyes in blue was gonna make me die! It was too cute! (btw that action figure of meta knight, I would like that.)

I think they do that not only for the dramatic effect, but also to let us know that he is talking. It may seem obvious enough, but it's often important to make things a little bit easier for audiences by including little things like that as well.
