I think that the nukes actually could have prevented more bloodshed, the Japanese soldiers were fanatical in their will to fight and die in battle, even as far as doing suicidal attacks rather than surrender, if the war had been fought conventionally on the Japanese mainland, potentially a million or more people could have died in the battles.

That would proboly been the general consensus of the Day... The issue is that Japan was alreddy talking about surenderig prior to the first attack, the ussr just got there soldiers and equipment back from the western front and was attacking Japan from the north They did relize that ussr general would stop at nothing to invade Japan...so simply surendering to usa was the better option.

I believe the nukes was nessisary they were fanatical in their defence and if the allies invaded millions of lives would have been lost but it was terrible destruction

"That kind of warfare scares me." Truth be told nukes don't scare me too much. Most of the damage is over within little to no time. Chemical and biological warfare are scary as hell though. That said in the army this was my field of training, NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical warfare). That said the bombs that were dropped on Japan were about 16-17 kiloton tiny compared to modern weapons. Largest one tested (before testing was banned) was somewhere around 54 MEGAtons...Just to touch on the theory about 3-4 years the war would have taken.... Part of the deal with Stalin was after Germany was defeated turning the other direction and helping with Japan. With that threat loomiing... and with the US actually ready to drop a third bomb.

Plus, on those shows, Sabaton will be opening for Judas fucking Priest, that's awesome!!! I'm so jeaolus of you people from the US, having the opportunity to see those two great bands play live together

@@danielrupp7578 The amazon echo sabaton commerical? Yeah I reacted to that during my live stream but never uploaded it. I may do a meme video soon. The problem is each meme has different volumes so its actually super hard to record.
