You know what I really love about this? I don't feel like I know the first thing about "fashion" but the way you all talk about it makes me realize that we're seeing the same thing. Maybe it's down to the way some professionals communicate about fashion that makes me feel like I don't know much about it. I guess I'm trying to say it was an accessible conversation that left me feeling a part of instead of clueless!

Apparently Giselle’s dress was a vintage Chanel designed by Karl Lagerfeld that she wore for a photo shoot at Lagerfeld’s house 16 yrs ago. So while the dress may not have been overly stunning, it was meaningful for her. Love Johnny and Kevin!! ❤ We need Beautiful & Bothered merch!!!

I don't think anyone will forget Blake Lively in 2022 in that incredible coral/green color changing confection. That was absolute perfection.

Some of these Met Gala looks were INCREDIBLE. I loved listening to you guys review them. You should definitely do this for fashion week in Milan and Paris. I’ve seen other people already start to comment this, but I REALLY wish Karl Lagerfeld wasn’t the theme. Yes, he did so much for Chanel; but he was still kind of a garbage person. I was super hoping they would have done Vivienne Westwood as the theme with her recent passing. She is an influential titan in the fashion world that DESERVES to have a Met Gala night. Also, COULD YOU IMAGINE the looks, the hair, and the makeup for that theme!?

💯 % agree. My best friend and I watched together (bi-costal him LA stylist, me in DC) and for every look we talked about what we would have done for that client if the theme was WESTWOOD. Vogue/MET really skipped an opportunity to have a killer red carpet.

I would also have loved a Viv themed Met Gala, however, these galas/parties were planned way way in advance so that the designers can make plans once the celebs and others were on the guest list. Maybe they can have a Viv themed next year, hopefully.

Karl Lagerfeld was problematic for sure (as was coco) but he really did breathe life back to Chanel. Karl used ro wear the fingerless gloves and mostly wore black/white. I loved the men’s version of the wedding dress!! Doja cat referencing KL’s cat choupette was fabulous. I couldn’t choose between her and Anne Hathaway for best dressed.

Absolutely agree. I'm not sure everyone got the reference to his cat 😊 but that was so Doja. And his cat may not have been as horrific as he was. I kind of liked that she gave a nod without celebrating him or Coco.

I love we got an extra episode this week! Make no mistake. Making Kevin a cohost was an excellent decision! The chemistry yall share as friends makes this podcast what it has become. This was SUCH a fun video 🙂 i loved Paris Hilton's makeup too! I agree 100% about Pete Davidson. Ugh. I think Pedro Pascal just looked so damn happy to be there that he could have worn a wet paper bag and he would have still looked happy 🙂 god bless him.

like that's the thing, you can critique a look without being shitty about a person. "I don't like this for her skintone" is way better than "wow she looks ugly"

Thanks to the both of you for making this kind of event actually accessible in terms of makeup and fashion. It made me see the ensembles in a different way, well some of them...

I love how as the video goes on you both become more and more confident and with that confidence comes more SASS! And I'm LIVING FOR IT! On a little bit more of a serious note, you should both be incredibly proud of yourselves for executing the very difficult task of being honest, insightful, generous and sassy without being that bitchy, entitled little know it all that tends to flood our "for you" pages with their unnecessarily cruel and uninspiring critiques. Being able to combine your honest self admitted ignorance in the fashion/theme of the MET Gala with your sassy humour, incredible knowledge, never ending skill set,unstoppable artistry and your undeniable chemistry between yourselves, is super difficult and is definitely where a lot of commentary content creators fall short. I'm so EXCITED for this! I wan to tell you two something... You two are so charismatic,FUNNY,intelligent,interesting,FUNNY,outspoken,beautiful,someone who you would want to hang out with and FUNNY!! (Did I also say FUNNY!!😊) #1 EVERYTHING I said is to you BOTH!! #2 I have had the same 2 bestfiends for 39yrs. We've been through EVERYTHING together. Last 10yr we live across the street from each other. I would go to Jen's when she got home from work and weed sit & talk,go eat whatever. (Back story) It was me,my friend Jen & her brother Scotty. Of course I LOVED (I was 16....stupid age🤢. Couldn't read between the lines to save my own life😒🤦) Scotty...Well... He's gay. Lol...He tried to tell me a few awkward times ANYWAY... I'm trying to say that you two have that certain something together (RESPECTIVELY!! Friendship) that's so fun & you just wanna hear what you all got to say about EVERYTHING. (Not everyone/creators has that.) When Jen and I watched Johnny..😂 Jen couldn't get enough of Barbra I couldn't get enough of 'the eye' with 'kay' 💀💀 I've ALWAYS been the clown of us.....being sill, pranks in younger times.. So the EFFECT & EFFORT put into to those are EVERYTHING!! Jen passed away very suddenly in October. Scotty found her. It's been super hard and I miss her every single day. Jen & I LOVED to watch you Johnny and she would've LOVED you two! Yes.. This was way long. I know... But the effort some people put into negative,ugly comments I wanted to be different and say that Mr. Johnny Ross got me through one of the absolute 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 time of my life. I think you inspire & up lift people more than you know and with how crazy & shity this world (especially humans) is.. I for one APPRECIATE you! Your talent,openness,truthfulness,intelligence and experience has filled a big space in this community that's been sorely lacking!! 🙏💜

I just read your beautiful and funny comment (don't worry, we've all had awkward teen moments when we can't tell when someone is whatever sexual preferences someone has when we had a crush on them lol). You and Jen had a beautiful friendship for many, many years where others had faded. I am so sorry for the loss of your family (I believe if you've been friends with someone for decades, they're your family, period). I hope you do something for every occasion to celebrate her (her birthday and the death anniversary and your friendship anniversary) with just you and maybe her brother and others that meant a lot to Jen. Also, fuck 2022 for taking a beautiful soul from you!.

I think the " pink plastic " earrings are actually Swarovski crystal earrings, seen them on the website the other week....they retail around $650.00.

I too am a woman of a certain age and I never outgrew dress up! This was such a fun foray into taste and style.

Selma's dress has a wonderful flamenco flair. I don't think she needed bigger hair, I think she's needed a hair piece that looked reminiscent of the flamenco head pieces, bright red with some rhinestones or diamonds to complement the dress.

The most thorough, critiques of the Met Gala which I love. The hair the makeup dress jewelry all of it makes the look. I seen a couple of others but they seem to be rushed through. Thanks for taking the time. It was tea, favorite blanket, snack, and on the TV Worthy.😁👍

This needs to be a yearly thing, really enjoyed it. ( The new fashion police) well done 👌👏👏👏👏

Anok Yai, Naomi Campbell, and Rihanna were my favorites. I've been a huge fan of Anok Yai since she broke out in the fashion scene. Definitely supermodel of millenium tier, in my book. Absolutely stunning! Naomi Campbell in the toga-inspired dress that was just the perfect juxtaposition of masculinity with the armor-themed top and femininity through the soft, elegant drape of the pink fabric that perfectly complemented her skin tone, like you both mentioned. Chef's kiss! And then Rihanna ... that was the first look I saw post-Gala and once I saw the eyelashes on the white shades, I was sold. I'm curious to see if that becomes a new streetwear trend because it's actually kind of brilliant.

Ok...gotta say, the details of the Choupette fur suit are incredible. They even got her nose pad right. She couldn't attend herself, of course, so this came close.

I agree with y’all about Viola Davis. She is a beautiful woman and if the makeup artist would’ve incorporated more of that beautiful pink in her makeup it would’ve been show stopping.

Doja Cat and cult lord crazy Leto referenced Choupette - Lagerfeld's cat :D As some people with tiny details. The gloves were always a Lagerfeld signature, as the white shirts and collars. The flowers are the Chanel peony. The wedding dress vibe was a nod the the Chanel brides at the end of the runway shows.

I loved the video. I watched the live stream of the carpet, the looks on video definitely showed up better. The lighting on the carpet in pictures was draining a lot out of the looks.

Karl Lagerfeld always wore one glove, no matter where he went and Cara was one of his main muses, so I think that is why you only see her wearing the gloves
