Me too but I don’t think his attitude helps him. Ozil still has quality in him I believe but it’s his desire/mindset to improve and compete on the top level that seems to be hindering his end years at Arsenal.

Makes it look so effortless. The number of players he frees with his runs and his passes. It's like all the players all of a sudden become playmakers on the ball

Many players in Özils role can pass or they just can dribble. Özil can do it all. That is what’s makes him different from everybody else

Arsenal just look smoother and more confident with him. With Partey and Gabriel being the defensive beasts they are...how is this man not playing. Even his bad games are an average players best game. He showed right before COVID lockdown a willingness to defend and track back and put a foot in. I just don't get it. One of the greatest No 10's of all time and we can't find a place for him in the team.

He is such a talent and worth having in the team even with less goals and assists. To be left out there must be some thing(s) that we the public don't know about.

Yah now he's old, goal-less and assist-less, but u will still understand that he still the backbone of team, the maestro, like pirlo in few years of his retiring time.

Assist-less because of how less quality player ozil have around in this squad. He produce so much with that age but nobody convert it into goals. Then everyone blames him. Its a shame really

Take note of how many of these chances were wasted and the player he passed to either didn't take the shot, flubbed the shot or turned and passed it back to another player, afraid to take the shot. Truth be told he needs a brilliant and world class partner to bring the best out of it. At Real he had Ronaldo...at Arsenal he had Giroud...and Sanchez at his peak for 2 years.

Ahh look at those perfectly weighted, accurate passes. Sure this only shows the successful ones, but most of our players right now could not pick the right time to pass as well as Mesut does.

I was really ready to watch him after the lock down. He was good before the break. Be created a lot for our team. Sad he hasnt played since then but I'm happy our players are already learning to play without depending on him for creativity

If Arteta feels that ozil does not fit his plan for a first 11 place then fair enough, but to not have him in the squad has to be short sighted the whole point of bench players (other than injuries) it to be able to change the game, he can make a killer pass out of nothing something no other current player can at the moment.

Can you see, how difference Arsenal team play with / without Ozil in the squad. Currently , Arsenal formation is 3 - 4 - 3.. they attacking and goals depends on how good crossing from fullbacks and counter attack. Why Arsenal not using 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 ? Because nobody can replace Ozil's Creativity as attacking midfielder

Sure, most of these highlights are in transition, still, you almost never see Ozil pass to a player standing still. His passes are to open areas where the player receives the pass in motion. Compare that to the 350th time Pepe has received a pass on the wing and just faces up against the defender. IMO, this is why Arsenal are struggling on offense. Too often players are receiving passes while still. I can’t believe Ozil isn’t in the squad. Ozil is a fu**ing artist with the ball. There has never been a player like him.

With Ozil we were creating chances. We all know it's not Ozil fault or Arteta.

2015 - 16 was prime Ozil. Those stats are the best of his career, even better than Real Madrid days.

2020 i see better ozil with better contribution, willingness to help the team in defense and pressing, higher workrate and most chances created than all arsenal player combined for a season.

Sapphire after 2016/17? Remember the pressure in Wenger to drop Özil for underperforming? He only kept him on because he was patient with players and in the end there was nothing to show for it. Even Lowe had to move on from some of WC winners including Özil, Muller and Gotze. And remember how you all cried that Wenger didn’t know what he was doing because he played Özil out wide? Remember when he’d drop off after being bullied in the centre of the pitch? Remember Muller and De Bruyne telling interviewers how they exploit his low defensive work when they play us? Remember Wenger telling us Özil had back problems? None of this is new.

@@hanklesacks he’s never been scapegoated. That’d be pinning all the blame on him. He’s never had it worse than Mustafi, Bellerin and Xhaka. He’s one problem among others, you wouldn’t have said a word if this was about Mustafi or Socrates.

No, the sad truth is we have useless defenders who can't get anything right. Remember Kaka? Remember Zidane? They barely contributed anything defensively back in the day. Heck, I don't remember Bergkamp chasing after every ball either.

The Kroenkes massively failed all Arsenal supporters and the club itself. We had Mesut Ozil and never took advantage of him. We should have won the championship in 2016, but because our owners were/are cheap, the best they could do was Elneny & Petr Cech, when we needed a proper striker and a Santi Cazorla replacement (Santi missed 21 league games in 2015-2016 due to injury), meanwhile Giroud went on one of the longest scoring droughts in Arsenal history. The same weaknesses were evident in 2016-2017, but the owners handed over the decision making to Gazidis in our transfer dealings. He brought us Xhaka, Mustafi, and Lucas Perez, three players Francis Cagigao said were not good enough to play for the Arsenal, and he was proven right. They used Arsene Wenger as a shield to take all of the abuse from the fans and the journalists, and Arsene took that abuse, even though he had no hand in choosing those players.

I will say this, he 100% deserves to atleast be in the squad with this Current arsena team however I do think he is coming towards the end of His days and in the long run won’t be the man we need.
