I really love that you treat your sketchbook almost like a junk journal or smashbook, with all the labels and scrapbooky bits 🤩

I really respect that you were honest.You're parents should be proud of that! If I could see you struggling with the "hard" oil pastels everyone else was too. I can't color/use with pastel sticks but I do use pastel pencils for details in my watercolor art. I have a few Panpastel and they have better control than the sticks and NOT as chalk blowing in the air and all over the place.

These turned out so good!! It was so fun and interesting to watch✨ The blue and purple portrait is definitely my fave, love love love the pink showing through like you said. Also the soft pastels 🤮 always hated them, they always feel gross too and are honestly just such a mess. The eye you made with them was definitely so good though 👌❤

You did what I did with my soft pastel drawing first : I ruined it with fixative ! We have to use the fixative very far away from the painting and of course it doesn't protect at 100% 😭😭 thats why I hate to use them ! Impossible to protect it (or you have to put it under a glass and frame it 💀). But I really love oil pastels. Your tests are very interesting. Thank you for sharing 🙏❤️

I love your videos! I just started using the Paul Rubens oil pastel, and they are a dream to use !!

You have to work really big with oil and soft pastels if you want detail haha Oil pastels are my absolute favourite! Great video c:

That’s weird that you don’t like the Arrtx oil pastels because Arrtx and Paul Rubens are sister companies, so I would assume it’s the same pastels. I have both and found them ok. Mungyo and Sennelier are my favourites. I am going to try out the Artagain paper. Keep creating 💙💜💛

soft pastels can be used with gouache it's very useful for glow effect and fog.. etc.

I love the sketchbook pages! I think you were a little bit to hard on yourself though, You haven’t used the medium a lot, so you are not gonna be the best at it at least in your eyes. I think u have an amazing art there’s always time to get better and better but we are not perfect and that’s ok. I recommend to take breaks if you’re struggling that might help.

@@thelastcoffeebean We are all to hard on are Art, it’s human nature. We just got to learn to embrace were we are at. Also I would love to see a video about store design and starting your own business, because I starting on myself and I would love to learn from u. I’m glad u found the comment helpful!🙃

6:27 I took a class with oil pastels, and I think the issue here is either 1. Yellow is the weakest pigment according to colour theory, 2. You may be layering them too much, because after a certain point of surface richness, you'll eventually be just scraping off pigment to put on another one, 3. If you're using the yellow on top of another colour, again, weakest pigment, its not going to stick, or really any combination of these. Edit: The entire "sealing" process for the chalk pastels was painful to watch.

Thank youuu! I really love oil pastels they feel like thick acrylic paints in crayon form! I advise using monochromatic colour schemes to start out 💯 it makes things so much less muddy and complicated and you can just have fun focusing on values and shapes

Maybe a different type of paper for the soft pastels. It looks like the paper you’re using isn’t conducive to soft pastels because of the lack of ability to layer on the paper. Just a thought.
