09 final, I felt like United were just a bit unlucky. However, after the 2011 final, it was the first time I questioned if Fergie "had IT" anymore. I'd never seen a side make a Fergie United team look that ordinary. Barca 10-11 is the greatest team I've ever watched.

I wasn't even nervous ahead of the final, because I thought win or lose, it makes no difference at this point, they ARE the best team in the world this year, no doubt. (This is the same year they 5-0'd Real Madrid, and also elliminated them from the CL Semi.)

Even on an uneven pitch and old style boots that were big and clunky his control and skill was insane. His goal against England to win the world Cup (not hand of God) was equal to that of messi's best goal where he went past some of the best defenders in the world at the time from the halfway line. Messi is still Messi though.

Also a 10 th , 8th ranked Napoli to 3,1,2,1,2..ranks is unbelievable. No one never did what he did with Napoli and Argentina. Messi has longevity but Maradona in his prime was the best ever

In the realm of goals he's the second best ever and challenges Messi for the top spot. Overall, Messi exceeds him on all fronts.

That 2011 Barcelona team was the best team i have ever seen! Especially at the middle of the park. That midfield was absolutely sensational Xavi Iniesta busquets they were all masters of passing.

Even before the world cup, he was the GOAT for me (I never watched Maradona and Pele so I can't say), because he has been an elite goalscorer AND playmaker/chance creator his whole career. To me, CR7 is the greatest striker/goal-scorer of all time, but he's not top 10 or even top 15 for the greatest playmakers/chance creators, and so he's not the best overall player for me. That's the way I've always seen it, and will always see it, regardless of the world cup win (which I think people place too much weight on imo). In terms of entertainment as well, I just simply enjoy watching Messi more than other players.
